Step into the Comfort ZoneCreating supremely comfortable shoes with the right support is a science. At SoftScience, Scott Seamans and his team of engineers have created a shoe that not only feels incredible, it works! SoftScience shoes may offer great relief to folks with a myriad of aches and pains. Our unique shoe design helps to relieve the discomfort associated with many widely experienced foot conditions such as heel pain (plantar fasciitis), bunions, and collapsed arches. They have also been found to offer relief from minor joint discomfort and back pain.

Central to the design and fit of our shoes is our unique SoftScience “last,” the mechanical form on which the shoe is created. Our shoes are designed with minimal heel to toe elevation change, allowing the foot to lie flat so the body achieves neutral alignment. This naturally level footbed, combined with our dense closed-cell copolymer in the sole, helps disperse body weight evenly across the foot, reducing pressure points and accommodating most foot shapes and sizes.

Bottoms UpTurn your SoftScience shoe over to find a whole network of comfort nubs. Small shock absorbers, molded into the Trileon™ outsole, are designed to absorb impact and increase traction. On slippery surfaces, these nubs function as little squeegees, offering slip-resistant protection.

At the core of the SoftScience shoes’ construction and personality is a proprietary material called Trileon — a closed cell copolymer developed by Scott Seamans exclusively for SoftScience. The unique properties of Trileon — cushioned, stable and lightweight — allow us to produce an incredibly light shoe that is comfortable with high-impact resistance and support.

Trileon is used in the shoes’ durable outsole and in the removable, washable insole. The outsole and insole combine to produce the unique comfort experience, which is the “WOW” factor in all SoftScience shoes. The shoes’ effective, yet simple, design and construction minimize the need for hardening adhesives and multiple layers of material. Wearers experience a roomy and relaxed fit, a stable platform, superb shock absorption, and an outsole that is slip-resistant and non-marking.

DIY ClogSoftScience signature heel loop

Simply remove the insole, fold down the heel and replace the insole for a supremely comfortable slip-on.

The signature heel loop on all SoftScience shoes makes the shoes easy to carry and easy to drip dry. Slip a carabiner though the loops and clip it to your backpack, or pin them to a clothesline.

The Drift can be converted into a clog.
