40th ANNIVERSARY SEASONThe Sockers are celebrating their 40th anniversary this season. "Legacy of Champions Since 1978" is the slogan to be used during the marketing campaign which features a wide variety of online, game day, apparel and promo giveaway elements. The circular anniversary logo with a ribbon near the bottom incorporates elements from the team's history. The top of the logo features the San Diego skyline, which is taken from the current crest, represents America's Finest City. A row of 14 gold stars representing the club's 14 championships is underneath the skyline. In the center, is the iconic Sockers logo with the NASL soccer ball from the 1980's and early 1990's representing the team's legendary years. The anniversary tagline is written in script font inside the banner. The anniversary dates and years of the anniversary are represented by the placement of "1978" and "2018" inside the right and left edges of the ribbon, and "40 Years" in bold font is at the bottom of the logo. GAME PREVIEW: Dallas Sidekicks Kick Off 2018-19 Pre-Season at home Against San Diego Sockers                                                                                                                                (ALLEN, TEXAS: Nov. 16, 2018) – The Dallas Sidekicks play their first preseason game at home against the San Diego Sockers on November 17th, 2018 at 7.00 PM CT at the Allen Event Center. This event will be free to the public with no tickets necessary and all are encouraged to donate a Thanksgiving-themed can of food which the Sidekicks will be delivering to the North Texas Food Bank. The two teams, whose rivalry dates back to 1983 in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), will meet two times during the 2018-19 Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) regular season.  The San Diego/Dallas matchup was one of the best in the MISL and culminated with the Sockers winning their 10th championship under Ron Newman in six games in the best-of-seven 1991-92 MISL Championship Series. The Sidekicks won their only MISL title in the 1986-87 MISL season with a thrilling seventh-game victory over the Tacoma Stars in the Pacific Northwest. Dallas has won four championships in their history (1993 CISL, 1998 PSA, 2001 WISL). The Sidekicks’ last game played was in the 2016-2017 season against the Ontario Fury where the Sidekicks fell to 7-13 for the season. With a revamped attitude and some new players added to the roster, this season will prove to be head and shoulders above the 2016-2017 season. The Sidekicks’ next pre-season game is Nov. 18th against the St. Louis Ambush at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO at 3.00PM CT. Fans can watch the game on MASLTV or stay tuned to the Sidekicks’ social media pages for updates. ABOUT THE DALLAS SIDEKICKSThe Dallas Sidekicks is an American professional indoor soccer team of the Major Arena Soccer League.
