Gerardo Castillo –General Director
Gerardo is an anthropologist, and has aMaster’s Degree in International Developmentfrom the University of Bath and another inGeography from the University of Oklahoma. Heis coordinator in the Diploma in ExtractiveIndustries: Surveillance and SustainableDevelopment and lecturer in the Social ScienceDepartment of Peru’s Catholic University.Gerardo is a senior consultant in socialdevelopment and extractive industries withover ten years experience in the sector.

Management Laura Soria– Project coordinator
Laura has an Anthropology degree from Peru’sCatholic University and is reading for a Master’sdegree in Gender, Sexuality and Public Policy atthe San Marcos First National University. She hashands-on knowledge of managing localdevelopment projects with a gender focus,mainly in urban areas. She has experience withtechnical assistance for citizens’ participation inconsensus-built planning and the participatorybudget; and with creating links between thepublic sector (local government) and the privatesector (civil society, trade associations andcompanies).

Gerardo Castillo
Senior social adviser to AMEC, SNC-Lavalin, Social Capital Group and Walsh Peru and with work experience in Canada, the United States, Guyana and Peru. Gerardo has been consultant to firms such as Rio Tinto, Anglo American, Xtsrata, Antamina, MineraYanacocha, Cerro Verde, SaviaPerú and Perú LNG.
María Amelia Trigoso
Maria Amelia has worked as the Community Coordinator for Concession Projects in the Social and Environmental Affairs Office of the Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications.
Camilo León
After working as social advisor for the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Camilo has been Project Manager in Social Capital Group and Community Relations Manager in SociedadMinera Cerro Verde, a Peruvian subsidiary of Freeport-McMoRan. He is an expert in community relations management and social ressetlement.
