• Justice as defined in the Indian Constitution includes the foll–
• Social – All our citizens must be treated the same…which is known as Equality
• Political – Right to vote and participate in politics• Economic – All of us have an equal opportunity to earn

• Social Justice is treatment of all persons equally irrespective of caste, creed, gender, status (monetary status), educational qualification, place of origin, place of residence, educational background, abilities, different abilities.

Equity vs. equality• Equity is a subjective term which means
different things to different people, whereas the term equality is objectively measureable.
• Example of Equality – from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
• Example of Equity – level playing field. • Are we moving from equality to equity?
Three views of equity:-
• Focus• Inclusion• Narrowing gaps
Are women the same as MEN?• Women and Differently-abled bring
different but essential qualities to the table.
• Equality is not making women equal to men rather to jointly enjoy the status of being human.
• Equality does not mean treating all the sexes identically, rather it is discriminatory to treat different as similar.
