Sri Ashok Mittal and group has

set up Lovely Professional

University in Phagwara, near

Jallandhar. The university has

about 25000 students. The

university is conducting a

special programme to

promote entrepreneurship.

They invited Dr. T.K. Jain to

conduct a workshop on social

entrepreneurship at the University. Two day workshop

was attended by 25 trainees. These trainees are girls from

different educational programmes like B.Tech

(Biotechonology), BE (Electronics), MBA, etc.

At the end of the workshop, participants presented their

business plans. Rigu presented her business plan about

starting an institute for developing cofidence and english

speaking capabilities of poor students. Surabhi presented

her business plan about teaching children of labourers.

Vaishali presented her business plan about starting fashion

design centre in rural areas.

All the participants were excited about the workshop and

were extremely thankful to the AFTERSCHO☻OL for

having organised this workshop. The feedback presented

by some of the participants are as under :

Priya Sharma (Students of MBA 2nd Semester at LPU): “I

am extremely thankful for this social entrepreneurship

workshop. I didn’t know about this concept. Now I want to

start an enterprise for helping the poor in India. This

workshop has motivated me to do something as an

entrepreneur. The workshop has given me a new

direction. Now I will do something meaningful.”

















Surabhi Agarwal (a student at LPU) (her contacts :

entrepreneur, the kind of guidance I was looking for … I

finally got in this workshop on social entrepreneurship. I

look forward to more such sessions.” Surbhi had

presented some of the best business plans of the

workshop.

Binny Gulati (student of MBA 2nd

semester):

“Social entrepreneurship is the most interesting and

challenging field – that I have explored. I always thought

that I have got a life of human being, so I should do

something which leaves behind a legacy. Now I have got

ideas of what to do and how to do it for the well being of

other human beings and specially women. The inspiring

lectures and sessions of social entrepreneurship workshop

have shaken me and given me the way. I shall be thankful

to AFTERSCHO OL for the whole of my life for showing

and giving me the direction and path for my thoughts.”
