Introduction
Included in this booklet is a list of social enterprises that were
funded through the Housing Executive’s Social Housing
Enterprise Programme.
Social enterprises are businesses which are set up to change
the world. Like traditional businesses they aim to make a
profit but it's what they do with their profits that sets them
apart – reinvesting or donating them to create positive social
change.
These enterprises listed here are based in or serve Housing
Executive communities. They are making big difference in our
communities by creating new jobs and sustaining existing
jobs in the heart of our estates. They are providing training
opportunities to help people improve life skills.
They provide excellent services in our communities from
cafés, handymen services, indoor play areas, health and
fitness centres, tourism enterprises, and a water bottling
plant to mention a few. Have a look and see what is in your
area, give them a try and support your local community.
