DESCRIPTION

Supporting families in their journey through life … I will endeavour to keep the school open but the start time will be 10:00. If the weather changes for the worse you will receive an automated text – if you do not receive a text assume that the school is open at 10:00. Breakfast club will open at normal times, unless you are texted and told otherwise. I know this seems complicated but I feel it is very important that the children don’t miss any time off school. 29 th November 2010

Supporting families in their journey through life …

29th November 2010

Dear Parents,

Snowy Conditions

As you will know we stayed open today, even though driving conditions for staff were quite treacherous. Most staff made it in by 10.00.

The forecast today states heavy snow at 21:00 and midnight with some snow showers at 06:00 on Tuesday morning. At the time of writing this (09.40 Monday

morning) the forecast is for more snow during the day today. This should lead to quite an accumulation of snow.

Deciding whether to close a school is a very difficult one- balancing the need to educate the children and the safety of my staff team – it is not an exact science so

here is the plan …..

I will endeavour to keep the school open but the start time will be 10:00. If the weather changes for the worse you will receive an automated text – if you do not receive a text assume that the school is open at 10:00. Breakfast club will open at

normal times, unless you are texted and told otherwise. I know this seems complicated but I feel it is very important that the children don’t miss any time off

school. Maths Scavenger Hunt – this has been cancelled due to the snow BUT the Maths

Morning on Wednesday is set to continue – so see you here at 9.00 for some

more maths fun…!
