-childrennotgettingenoughtoeat.However,todaymostinfantsandchildrenconsumemorecaloriesthantheyneedeachday.And,likemalnutrition,overeatinghashealthconsequences.

Thatmeanstwiceasmanychildrenarenowidentifiedashavingthehighestlevelofbodyfatfortheirheightandage.Notonlyaremorechildrenobeseandoverweightbutevenoverweightchildrenmaynotbegettingthenutrientstheyneedtobehealthy.Childrenwhoeatenoughcaloriesbutdon’teatenoughvegetables,fruits,wholegrainsandlow-fatproteinsactuallyhavesomeofthediseasesofmalnutrition(likefailingeyesightorpoorbonestructure)whiletheylooktobeahealthyweightorevenoverweight.
