college admissions

association of universities and educational

the opportunity to travel abroad. SME

Philippines Training Center is the only IELTS

Testing Center and Resource Center that

has been certified from the British Council,

and the only GAC Teaching Center in

the Philippines. The GAC program is

an internationally recognized university

preparation program for students who do

not have English as their first language.

Successful completion of the GAC

program will guarantee them entrance into

one of 90 Pathway Universities in over 10

countries. In addition, SME has created

programs for those interested in migrating

to Australia, Working Holiday students, or

students who wish to study abroad. SME

Philippines Training Center is constantly

AT SME PHILIPPINES TRAINING CENTER

SME Philippines Training Center is the first private educational institution to

be designated as an IELTS testing center by the British Council. Since its

accreditation in July 2011, SME continues to strive towards the demand for

excellence as an authorized testing center.

The IELTS Resource Center is managed by both the British Council and SME

Philippines Training Center. The effective learning space allows students to

have access to textbooks and samples of IELTS test materials and information about the test. The

Resource Center is well equipped with practice tests, workbooks, CDs, DVDs, and magazines to

help students prepare for the exam.

*IELTS International English Language Testing SystemIELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an international English language proficiency assessment test jointly managed by the British Council,

IDP, IELTS Australia and the University of Cambridge ESOL with 800 locations in 130 countries. The test was intended for students interested in studying

abroad or immigrating to countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. In addition, more than 3,000 educational institutions in

the United States now accept IELTS scores as a tool to measure a student’s English language proficiency.

In July 2012, ETS certified SME Philippines Training Center-Capital Campus

as an authorized TOEIC testing center. Capital Campus is recognized for

specializing in the TOEIC program and offers a challenging curriculum to help students succeed.

By meeting the standards for TOEIC, the qualified staff and teachers are ready to provide the best

learning conditions as the newest ETS TOEIC testing venue.

The GAC Program is an internationally recognized university preparation

program for students who do not have English as their first language. It is

the product of ACT Education Solutions, Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of ACT, Inc.) If students

successfully complete the program, they are granted guaranteed entry into one of 90 GAC pathway

universities in more than 10 countries. SME Philippines Training Center is the only accredited GAC

teaching center in Cebu that has been certified from ACT ES.

CanteenThe program emphasizes on confidence which motivates students to study harder. It also illustrates the importance of vigorous study habits. Memorization of vocabulary, studying idioms, and repetitive sentence dictation helps build a solid foundation to improve the effectiveness of learning English.

Red DiaryAll new incoming students receive the ‘RED DIARY’ before their orientation at SME Philippines Training Center. ‘RED DIARY’ is a tool for students to help them improve their writing and listening skills. The student’s individual teachers correct grammatical errors and motivate them to cultivate the ability to write. Every entry needs to be filled up to 75% of the page and have a minimum of 200 words. Daily written diaries are submitted to the student’s Reading/Writing teachers for corrections while the Dictation pages are conducted with the Listening/Speaking teachers. After ever 20 entries, students will be able to grab a SME souvenir (T-Shirts, mugs, cushions, umbrella, etc.)

The INTENSIvE ESL Program is a program that can maximize the demanding regulations

and intensive instructions needed to improve English language skills. SME INTENSIvE ESL

program’s goal is to improve the general level of English so students will be able to engage in

SME EPILOGUE - PeterI was surprised when I became a successful candidate

who was passed "2012 summer english language training"

to meeting. I leaped for joy at the news. On june 23th I left

from korea. I was a little nervous. after 4hours, I arrived

the philippines. It was very scorching hot when I went out

from airport. And I moved to english school that is SME. I

arranged my goods roughly. But I couldn't sleep very well

so I expected after my live for a month. after 2days, I had a

class with a teacher who is filipina. She spoke english very

well and I was dispirited because I couldn't speak english

at that time. But she led me how to speak english then I

also followed her. I was surpried how can speak english.

I appreciated about her help. I was interested study

english with my teachers. After 5days, I felt that my english

speaking improved for 5days. On june 30th I had activity

with schoolmates in the maribago resort. I took a zetski

for one hour. It's very exciting. because it's first time and I

played with schoolmates in the pool. I couldn't forget this

day. Next day, I went to the mall. The mall in the philippines

is different in korea. I had a lot of experience in the mall

and bought some Philippines's food and sneaks. Most

of Philippines's food is very salty. I think that Philippines'

people sweat plentiful as weather. so they supplement

salty. I leaned a lot of the Philippines' culture. I adapted

the Philippines' culture, community gradually During two

weeks. Second Saturday, I went to hopping on the sea.

We went swimming on the sea and ate a lot of food in

the island. I didn't know that time passed quickly. I never

forgot this day. I've remembered the day until now. My

english skill was improving as many for 3 weeks. I was glad

to improve english skill as well as rising Toeic score. I was

so happy! On July 14th, We had volunteer with people.

We gave food, glasses, school supplies, and medicine to

children or older people. At that time my feeling was sad

watching the people. I thought I had to have volunteer as

well as in korea.

finally, I have a huge experience in the Philippines. The

experience that help someone, understand other people,

and love all of people in the world. I hope that I want to

come to the Philippines again. Thank you for reading my

During the first 4 weeks of enrollment at SME, students are required to attend morning and evening Sparta classes in order

to build a strong foundation that will serve as a basis for their learning. After the 4 weeks, students may choose to continue

with Sparta classes if they wish, depending on their level of confidence.

CULTURAL EXPLORATION

After the end of regular classes, GENERAL ESL students are able to leave the campus on the weekdays, giving them the

opportunity to explore the local culture. For the safety of the students, a strict 11PM curfew is implemented at all times.

MONTHLY PROGRESS TEST

Progress tests are administered monthly in order to assign students to the next level according to their scores. As a way of

encouragement, students also have the opportunity to register for the weekly IELTS and TOEIC mock tests.

Finally I'm gonna graduate from SME this Friday. I had

studied English here for 2 months. As a matter of fact I was

worry about my Cebu's life, friends and teachers before

coming here, but, nevertheless I spent tiptop days which

I am unable to experience in japan with my friends and

teachers who I met in SME.

I had 2 classes of 1:1 and one 1:4 class, the school hours

was a little bit long for me, however all teachers were

gracious moreover they taught me new vocabularies and

grammars easily that I couldn't understand before. Their

explanations were easy to understand, so I really enjoyed

their classes and I had used English during class, so I can

say that my English skill greatly improved compared than

before.

Anyway I'll never forget my life in SME!! All kind friends

and lovely teachers made me plenty happy for 2 months,

so I was really glad. Thank you for your kindness and

everything.

SME EPILOGUE - TOMOAKI KAMIYAWhen I was in NZ, a Korean friend recommended to go to

SME because of tight schedule. "If you want to study hard,

SME is tiptop school in Cebu." So I decided to come to

SME.

I could speak general conversation but it was not enough

for me. I wanted to speak more fluently.

When I came here, I forgot how to speak English. I could

speak but it was not fluently. Also when I took a placement

exam, my speaking score was terrible. I lost confidence

about my English.

But I started to take lessons, my English was getting better.

Especially vocabulary. I noticed my speaking vocabulary

was only basic word. Of course, I can communicate in that

level but if I hope improvement, it was not enough.

So, I decided to attend all classes for myself.

Surely, SME schedule is so tight. For first month, I had to

take lessons from 6;40 a.m to 9;00 p.m. It was so hard for

me but I did.

Actually, I didn't feel my improvement in the beginning

but my English is getting better. I can put some idioms

and difficult words in my speaking so this is a sigh of my

mature.

I have one more weeks in here, so I'll strive harder. I think

my decision was correct to come to SME. I'll be proud of

studying in SME after I go back to Japan.

SME EPILOGUE - RanI wanted to study English, so when our school announced

the program, I applied to this immediately. I submitted my

TOEIC score and had an interview.

I arrived in the Philippines last week of June. Initially, I was

not able to speak because I was afraid and I couldn"t speak

in front of the foreigners. But all of my teachers were kind

and cares for me all the time. Eventhough i'm not good at

writing in correct sentences, increasingly,I can write and

communicate with the teachers.

In the morning, we had 'sparta class' at 6:50a.m. I was very

tired but teachers were tired too. So I end up sleeping. After

breakfast, we had one to one class and one to four class.

My one to one class was divided into 2 classes. One was

reading and writing class, and the other one was listening

and speaking class. I was satisfied with my level and

teachers. I could supplement my English ability which I was

not able to study during my term. My one to four class was

studying with many activities and games. In that class, one

of the interesting game was 'PANTS' game. I did this game

for the first time. It was fun and effective.

SME academy had dormitory in 3rd floor. Facilities were

better than I thought. It's newly construct building. It had

ping pong tables and a movie theater. I had 2 roommates

except me. And every week, the housekeeper cleaned the

room. Meal is the most important thing and it was not bad,

but kimchi was good for me. What I was disappointed is that

study room and gymnasium were still underconstruction until

we leave. So the students were not able to use anything.

Every Saturday, our university had activities. First week, we

went to the 'Bluewater' in Mactan island. It was one of the

beautiful scenery that I saw until now. The food was good

too. Second week, we went 'Tour Hopping'. The sea was

very clear as well. We could enjoy swimming and seeing

some kinds of fish under the sea. All of the students enjoyed

that time. We ate our meal in lunch in the floating cottage

which was very cool experienced. Third week of activity, was

volunteer service to the Philippine children. Philippine students

came to volunteer too. The Children were cute and active.

We took pictures with the Philipine students. Our university

brought many things for them. Then, I gave vitamins and an

insect repellent, After the volunteer, we ate korean food. Every

Sunday, each students enjoyed leisure time. For one thing, we

went to a tourist attraction and shopped with a teacher.

It was my first time to study English in abroad. It was a good

experience to be with my schoolmates. If I would have given

another opportunity, I would go to abroad again to study.

If they fail to reach their score during their enrollment, SME will compensate for the classes until their score is reached.

SYSTEMATIC TEACHER MANAGEMENT

Teachers must pass a seven step process in order to become a TOEIC teacher as well as undergo six weeks of additional

training. With the help of professional researchers of TOEIC, all teachers are trained in TOEIC problem solving skills along

with English. Additionally, in order to improve the quality of TOEIC teachers, all teachers must take several tests periodically.

COURSE INTRODUCTION• COURSE 1 : 600 TOEIC

TOEIC 600 consist of three parts: Foundation + Reading + Listening. Students must score

at least 400 on the placement test in order to enroll in this program. In the Foundation class,

students will be able to build Basic English skills through simple dictation, writing, and TOEIC

grammar. During the Reading class, students will have ample time to answer questions by

applying the grammar learned in the Foundation class. The Listening class is conducted in

groups and incorporates TOEIC Speaking so students will able to engage in conversations.

• COURSE 2 : 700 TOEIC

TOEIC 700 are comprised of three courses, Foundation + Reading + Listening. In addition

to simple dictation, writing, and TOEIC grammar, students will be introduced to specific

vocabulary. The Reading class will present a little more difficulty compared to TOEIC 600 as

students will have less time to solve problems. In the Listening class, students will be able to

study TOEIC speaking as well as construct problem solving skills.

• COURSE 3 : 800 TOEIC

TOEIC 800 also have three courses, Foundation + Reading + Listening. In the Foundation

course, TOEIC Speaking related dictation is emphasized as students will learn to lessen

their mistakes through TOEIC grammar. The time given to solve the problems in Reading is

shortened even more, presenting a challenge for the students to utilize their skills. By providing

more homework in the Listening class, students will be better prepared for TOEIC Speaking.

SME Philippines Training Center is one of 120 GAC centers in 12 countries. Currently, there

are about 5,000 students in the program preparing to study abroad. If students successfully

complete the program, they are granted guaranteed entry into one of 90 GAC pathway

universities in more than 10 countries, which include but not limited to; US, Canada, Australia,

UK, Singapore, Indonesia, and Taiwan. Upon completion of the program, students can obtain

up to 46 college credits that will be applied to the Pathway University of their choice. This

year, 5,000 students will enroll in the program to pursue their dream of studying abroad.

1. WEEKLY REGULAR PROGRAM

During daytime, classes are divided into IELTS / ESL / Schooling program depending on the student’s career goals. If

preparing to enroll in schools in English-speaking countries such as the United States or Australia where an IELTS score

is required, students will be enrolled in the IELTS program. For students whose aim is a short-term improvement in their

English language skills, they have the option of registering for the ESL program along with the golf program. The schooling

SME EPILOGUE - Della ChouI am Della, I came from Taiwan, this is my first time to

come here in the Philippines for studying English.When

I arrived in Cebu, the picker holding SME brand in the

airport , then he took us come to the SME campus.

I was so nervous in the first day. I don’t know where it is. I

never had been came to oversea , and my mother didn’t

know who’s with me, I was in fear in that moment. And my

mother told me , you have to be careful about anything,

when you want to go out on the weekend, take care of your

money, pay attention to who is next to you or around of you.

F i rs t day, I came to d in ing room fo r my lunch, I

fe l t i t is so salty. I can’t eat anymore. So I a lways

ate my instant noodles everyday, I br ing i t come

to here. Unt i l one day, I saw the food, i t look l ike

so del ic ious, then I stared to t ry i t and count ing.

A few days later, I got used to here. I can go to eat in here

everyday. The chef is so nice to me, he always smiling to me

and say hello to me. And I met a lot of friends in here, they

are so nice to me. I am so happy about that.

I have studied TOEIC in Capital campus for 4 weeks.

Actually I transferred from Sparta campus, at there I had

already studied for six weeks. In here, I feel that I AM

improving my TOEIC test skill. And, of course, I can feel

freer than there because I can go out if I want. Sometimes

it is very useful especially you want to plan a trip, kkkk.

Capital campus has comfortable environment for students

to study. Although I know that we can only connect the

Internet outside our rooms, I can connect wi-fi inside my

room recently. So, I feel I am lucky. By the way, my room

(4-people room) is really big and comfortable, I promise.

Even though I don't know the ESL teachers in Capital

campus, I know that the TOEIC teachers here are good

and conscientious.

They are willing to help you if you have some questions

including studying and some information about trips.

The staff in Capital are also friendly. Although I have just

stayed here for short 4 weeks, I have visited the office for

many times and made a lot of difficult problems to the staff.

Luckily, they are all very kind and helped me a lot. I feel

really thankful to them.

I am going to leave this campus, but I know I will miss here

after I come back to my country. And actually, I am starting

to miss here from now on.

Final ly I 'm gonna graduate from SME this Fr iday. I

had studied English here for 2 months. As a matter

of fact I was worry about my Cebu's life, friends and

teachers before coming here, but, nevertheless I

spent tiptop days which I am unable to experience in

Japan with my friends and teachers who I met in SME.

I had 2 classes of 1:1 and one 1:4 class, the school hours

was a little bit long for me, however all teachers were gracious

moreover they taught me new vocabularies and grammars

easily that I couldn't understand before. Their explanations

were easy to understand, so I really enjoyed their classes

and I had used English during class, so I can say that

my English skill greatly improved compared than before.

Anyway I'll never forget my life in SME!! All kind friends and

lovely teachers made me plenty happy for 2 months, so I was

really glad. Thank you for your kindness and everything.

SME because of tight schedule. "If you want to study hard,

SME is tiptop school in Cebu." So I decided to come to SME.

I could speak general conversat ion but i t was not

When I came here, I forgot how to speak Engl ish.

I cou ld speak but i t was not f luent ly. A lso when

was terr ib le. I lost conf idence about my Engl ish.

But I started to take lessons, my English was getting better.

Especially vocabulary. I noticed my speaking vocabulary

SME AQF IELTS PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

The SME AQF IELTS Program is designed for those who need the required IELTS score to obtain the AQF for

immigration and employment purposes. At SME, students will be able to experience the driving force that is instilled

in the program in order to help them successfully reach their goal.

AQF INTRODUCTION

The Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) is the national policy for regulated qualifications in Australian education

and training. It incorporates the qualifications from each education and training sector into a single comprehensive

national qualifications framework. It is administered nationally by the Australian Government Department of

Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. Courses are primarily taken by those aged over 18. However, in

some vocational and general academic courses, a minority of students enter at the minimum graduating age of 16.

Certificates I-IV are the basic post-secondary qualifications and prepare candidates for both employment and further

education and training.

AQF CERTIFICATE III TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS INTRODUCTION

The AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework) is classified as Level Certificate I~IV. Certificate III technician level

qualifications is issued by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. Typically a 12 month curriculum,

students will be able to acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for work by meeting the standards

required in AQF Certificate III. Acquiring the AQF Certificate III is considered as “Recognition of prior learning” (RPL)

Many of the world-famous resorts attract many tourists every year to

supplies and facilities. The volunteer program takes place in Malapascua

which is about four hours away from Cebu. Students will spend one

night and 2 days assisting in medical services as well as playing games

and other activities with the locals.

environment in the Philippines. Mangrove swamps protect coastal areas

Kawasan Falls ▶

Kawasan Falls, located in Badian Town, 3-3.5 hours south-west

of Cebu City Philippines, is one of the more popular day tour

destinations for visitors and locals alike. Kawasan Falls is a peaceful

natural place where you can enjoy many waterfalls of natural spring

water. Just 130 kilometers southwest of Cebu City and about three

hours bus ride, the Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of

Barangay Matutinao, Badian. Along the way, souvenir shops selling

accessories such as beaded necklace, bracelets, and Kawasan

print t-shirts are available for sale.

CONSOLIDATED PRICE LIST

GENERAL PROvISIONS1. DesignationThe official name of the school is SME Networks Philippines Training Center, Inc. The campus located in TALAMBAN shall be known as SME SPARTA, the campus located in MABOLO shall be referred as SME CLASSIC, and the campus in GUADALUPE shall be called SME CAPITAL.2. Bylaws Agreement Students must sign the agreement before their start at SME Philippines Training Center. By signing the agreement, the student agrees to observe all the rules and regulations. 3. Studying Lifestyle In order to maintain the safety of all students, strict rules and regulations are enforced. SME is not liable if the property of the student is stolen or damaged. 4. Refunds after Expulsion In case of expulsion due to improper demeanor of students, no refund will be made.5. Responsibility The school is no longer responsible for the student upon their expulsion.

SME TRAINING CENTER REGULATIONSREGISTRATION AND EXTENSIONS1. There will be a one time non-refundable $100 USD registration fee.2. 5 days (excluding legal holidays) after the application, an invoice will be presented. The tuition and dormitory fees must be paid in full at least two weeks before the start of the enrollment.3. SME’s minimum registration period is 4 weeks.4. In case of an extension, students must inform the administration office and apply at least 4 weeks in advance of their graduation date. Payment must be submitted 2 weeks prior to the first day of the extension. Failure to pay their tuition fee 2 weeks in advance will result in an automatic cancellation of their application.5. Before the start of the enrollment period, students may change the length of their study once after registration at no cost. A $100 USD fee will be charged for every adjustment thereafter. However, dormitory change and enrollment period change fees are not excluded. 6. Students are allowed to change classes once every 2 weeks.

HOLDING PERIOD1. Students can hold their classes for a total of 6 months when they have more than 4 weeks remaining in their enrollment period.2. SME will deduct 2 weeks (tuition and board) from the total duration if the student decides to hold their class.3. VISA Extension Fee and SSP Issuance fees will not be refunded. In case the students needs a VISA Extension or SSP Issuance (valid for 6 months), it is the student’s responsibility to reapply.4. Dormitory choice will be subject to availability.5. Pick-up schedule will not be available.

DISCLAIMER1. SME or its agents shall not be liable for cancelled or extended flight schedules due to a natural disaster.2. SME is not liable for any accidents outside of its premises whether or not the student has a class.3. SME is not liable for damage of property during travel.4. Classes are held 5 days a week. However, SME will not compensate for Philippine holidays, temporary holiday and special holidays.5. Authority of Exchange rate and tax increases: SME has the authority to change its prices to adhere to the 10% (6 month) exchange rate and tax increase in accordance with the relevant laws of the Philippine government.

CLASSROOM RULES AND REGULATIONS1. SME has the sole discretion to arrange students’ class and teachers.2. Students must be in their classrooms within 10 minutes after the bell, otherwise they will be marked as absent.3. In order to maintain professionalism in the classroom, we ask students to refrain from wearing short skirts or shorts, and/or flip flops.4. Students are allowed to change classes once every 2 weeks. If a student wants to change his class, he must fill out a change of class form with the Student Assistant teacher on Thursdays from 9AM to 6PM. Priority for teachers will be decided in consideration of attendance, warnings, and studying duration. Students can start their reassigned schedule the following week. 5. In case of a leave of absence or the instructor leaves the company due to unseen circumstances, a substitute will be provided or the student will be placed in a 1:8 class.6. In case of absence or the instructor leaves the company due to unseen circumstances, a substitute teacher will be given to the student after 10 minutes. However, a student may reject the substitute teacher if there is an acceptable reason and may request for a MAKE-UP CLASS upon the approval of the Academic Office.7. After the progress test taken every four weeks, if the instructor believes that the student’s level is too low or high for the class, SME has the right to reassign the class of the students to the proper level.

SPARTA CLASSES RULES AND REGULATIONS1. All students who arrive at SME must follow the provisions of each campus and attend morning and evening Sparta classes. 2. If a student’s attendance ratio is below 90 percent during the 4 week term, a warning will be issued.3. Sparta evening classes will begin on Day 2 from 07:00pm to 09:00pm.4. All SME students must take a weekly progress test in accordance with the campus whether it be TOEIC, CAMBRIDGE ESOL, or IETLS.5. Students who fail to take the weekly test are subject to warning based on SME academic regulations.

OTHERS1. Students are to maintain a class attendance ratio of 80% to receive a certificate. If students do not attend the Recognition Ceremony, the Certificate of Attendance from the school will not be given.2. Students are responsible for the additional costs

a. Visa extension fee: SME’s staff will extend the student’s visa on their behalf in order to prevent penalties from Philippines Immigration. On the first visa extension, students should pay the full amount in advance.b. SSP fee (Special Study Permit): New students need to fill out the SSP application form on their first day. Students are able to maintain their legal student status with the SSP certification.c. ACR I-Card Issuance fee: A Philippines ACR I-card is an identification card issued by the Philippines Bureau of Immigration for foreigners from other countries staying in the Philippines for more than 59 days. d. Course and Dormitory Change fee: Extensions, changing courses, or dormitory may incur additional charges in accordance with the provisions stated by SME.e. Other travel, medical costs, telephone costs, and personal allowance are the sole responsibility of the student.

3. Students are required to write on the application any allergies, medical conditions, or handicap for the protection of the school and other students. In case of extreme medical conditions, SME reserves the right to refuse the application.

DORMITORY RULES AND REGULATIONSGENERAL PROvISIONS1. Dormitory room assignments are a unique privilege of SME. All students must live in the assigned room unless there is an acceptable valid reason for change.2. Students who wish to change their rooms within the same campus due to personal reasons will be charged 500 pesos. (For changing campuses, 500 pesos will be charged from the 2nd change).3. At the time of registration students must sign the dormitory agreement form. Failure to abide by the rules and regulations of the dormitory agreement may result in expulsion.4. Personal toiletries will not be provided by SME and is the responsibility of the student.5. If an SME employee has been accused of theft, SME will not be held liable until after a thorough investigation by authorities have been made. 6. All furniture is the sole property of SME. Students who damage any property or remove them from the school will be held responsible for full reimbursement.

DEPOSIT/INCURRING CHARGES1. Upon arrival at SME, an initial $50 USD (P2,500) room deposit must be made. (100% refundable)2. P300 key deposit must be made upon arrival. (100% refundable)3. Students are responsible for paying water and electricity at the end of every month. (Electricity: 12pesos per 1KW, water: 10pesos per day)

CURFEW/OUTSIDE vISIT REGULATIONS1. All students must strictly adhere to the curfew regulations

a. SME CLASSIC (Mabolo) and SME CAPITAL (Guadalupe): Curfew time is 11PM to 5AM all seven days of the week. The front gate will be strictly controlled by a security guard to ensure that students abide by the rule. Students will not be able to enter or exit the premises during curfew hours. Students without permission to stay out will receive a warning.b. SME SPARTA (Talamban): Exiting the campus grounds is strictly prohibited during the weekdays. On Saturdays, students are allowed to go out after 5am or after the weekly test, but must return to campus by 11PM. (Students who fail to attend the weekly test will be restricted to exit the premises) During holidays, curfew is 11PM. On Sundays, students must return to campus by 8PM to attend evening Sparta classes.c. Students who wish to stay out during the weekends must fill out a stay-out permission form in advance. (All forms must be submitted before 6:00PM on Friday)

2. Students are strictly prohibited from entering the opposite gender’s room. This will cause immediate expulsion from the school if they cross the red-line on the opposite gender’s floor.3. Outside visitors are strictly prohibited from entering dorm rooms. Failure to abide by this rule will result in immediate expulsion of the student.

DRINKING / SMOKING PROHIBITIONS1. Bringing liquor/alcoholic beverages inside campus will result in a warning. Violent behavior, vandalism, disturbance of peace, or fights after drinking will result in immediate expulsion without hesitation and will be handled in accordance with the laws of the Philippines.2. In order to keep a pleasant dormitory environment and prevent the risk of fire, smoking is only permitted in designated areas. If a student is caught smoking in their rooms or is caught throwing away the cigarette butts, it will result in a warning and they will be charged 1,000 pesos for clean-up.

HOUSEKEEPING AND LAUNDRY 1. Housekeeping is done once a week and beddings will be changed when the room is being cleaned. Students can request housekeeping services by filling out the housekeeping form on the bulletin boards a week in advanced.2. Laundry drop off and pick up is done three times a week. Students should check their laundry immediately upon retrieval and are encouraged not to include delicate or expensive clothes. Any lost or damaged items will be handled according to SME’s regulations.

WARNINGS, PENALTIES, GROUNDS FOR EXPULSION1. Students will be expelled without warning if they enter the opposite gender’s rooms, are caught drinking in the rooms, or cause intentional damage to SME’s properties.2. Students caught at a casino, KTV, or any other establishment with the same nature will be given a warning and their parents will be notified.3. Students will receive warnings and be on grounds of expulsion if their attendance rate is less than 50%, cause too much excessive noise inside campus, or commit violent acts towards each other or making threat to managers. All final decisions will be made by SME.4. Receiving 5 warnings will result in expulsion.5. In case of expulsions, no refunds will be made.

REFUND POLICY

After departure - There are no refunds if the remaining length of stay is less than 50% of the entire contract- SME will refund in a 4 week basis (i.e.: remaining period – 10weeks -> refundable period 8 weeks / remaining period 6 weeks -> refundable period 4 weeks). Only 60% of the amount will be refunded.- Refunds will be given within 30 days via the agency in the student’s country (SSP and registration fee not included)- If a student misses class without prior notice within the first three weeks of enrollment, no refund will be given- If a student has less than 4 weeks left to stay, no refund will be given upon request of early departure.

Photographs or videos taken throughout a student’s stay at SME may be used for public information.
