ITS Area Vasta Scarl has been created tomanage the project “INTEGRATION PROJECTAND TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT OFMOBILITY CONTROL SYSTEMS IN THEEXTENDED AREA OF CAGLIARI”. The project,revolving around the realization of an integratedmobility system, has been originally funded by theDepartment of Transportation of the AutonomousRegion of Sardinia within the EU Structural Funds(2003-2006)
The consortium ITS Area Vasta has a sole administrator and uses mainly employees from CTM, who lend their expertise to the consortium on a part time basis

The first phase, characterized by the partnership between CTM (the local
transit agency) and the city of Cagliari, was realized between 2004 - 2008
The second phase, for the development of telecommunication and info-mobility
systems within the metropolitan area of Cagliari, has started in 2008 and is yet to
be completed
