H2Gl0 is a product designed to encourage self-responsibility about water usage. The water shortagesituation can only be eradicated if people conserve water. New products that capture or filter excesswater will only further encourage overzealous water consumption.

Water consumption is intangible. People do not look at their water meter and consider how muchthey are using. By visualizing the amount of water consumed, the owner has a visual reference forsomething ephemeral.

urban installationOnce a month, members of the community will gather in pulbic squares to assemble their H2Gl0’s. The product is made of a durable plastic and can be snapped together to configure various forms of urban furniture. With hooks embedded inside, the cubes are also hung on wires across the city. This system allows for the configuration of both block and sparwling forms in an infinite number of ways. Because of the color system, usage suddenly becomes visible. A sense of urgency would emerge if one neighborhood’s blocks were all orange/yellow, just as celebration would occur for a blue.

WATER METER

The cube attaches to your water meter where it analyses your water usage. When this process is completed the cube will glow according to a pre-defined color meter. The LED light is located inside the cube and adjusts itself accordingly. The glow ranges from orange to blue; extreme usage to low, respectively.

put it together!Each cube is designed to interlock with other cubes. This allows the citizens to create public art. They are also sturdy enough to function as urban furniture.The cubes also have hooks embedded inside of them to allow for hanging on wires across the city. There is an infinite number of possibilities for putting these cubes together.
