Impact Study - Why Do It?
Illinois Credit Union League Annual Meeting April 18, 2015
OSCUI historically tracked its production:• Number of consultations (EDS contacts)• Hours of consultations• Number of grants and loans• Grant and loan dollars• Attendance at training events (workshops,
clinics, roundtables, webinars, videos)

Impact Study - Why Do It?
Illinois Credit Union League Annual Meeting April 18, 2015
Our productivity ≠ CU Impact• Did the CU implement our
recommendations/project/training concepts?• If not, why?• If so, what was the result?• Which initiatives are most successful?• How can we replicate the successes,
discontinue less productive?

Impact Study - What Was Done
Illinois Credit Union League Annual Meeting April 18, 2015
The study had three phases:• Phase I: Quantitative review
• Phase II: Qualitative review
• Phase III: Convening and report
20
Impact Study – Key Findings
Illinois Credit Union League Annual Meeting April 18, 2015
CUs $1 million to $10 million in assets experienced greatest impact.
Consulting service had the highest impact of our services. The impact was most significant for small, low-income credit unions.
Grants most effective on LIDs between $1 million to $10 million.
Low-income CUs (LIDs) benefit more than non-LID CUs.
Minority CUs benefit at the same rate as all credit unions.
New credit unions benefit from all categories of services.
