social media?
● Want to reach out to new clients
● Promotions, specials, and events
● Customer service● Show off company culture
and milestones● Hiring● Reputation management
Why NOT to be Online?

Why not jump on the bandwagon?

How do I know which channel is best for me and my small business?
Start small. Consider your target audience, and which platform you are already comfortable with.
Consider your target audience.
Facebook = all encompassing, great starting point for any small business.
Twitter = slightly older demographic, great for niche, specialized businesses.
Instagram = younger demographic, fantastic option for mobile, on the go businesses.
Pinterest = strongly female oriented, great for party rental, landscaping, and retail businesses
Youtube = huge audience and potential, great option for businesses that create video content
LinkedIn = great option for B2B and networking.
Example of a landscaping company using Pinterest for their small business:
Example of an auto detailing company using Instagram for their small business:
Who will be managing your online presence?
Consider these important questions:
● Who will be in charge of your social account (s)? ● How often will updates be posted? ● Do you have the time available to support your
social media goals? If the answer is no, can you scale back to make it work within your daily schedule?
