Slumber parties are filled with fun pajamas popcorn and plenty
of excitement A time to watch movies eat popcorn and see
your little ones enjoy time with their friends all in the comfort of
your own home Since the summer is nearing an end now is the
perfect time to throw one At sleepyheads we are the experts in
creating night time comfort for all the family so we have decided
to share our ultimate slumber party guide for your little ones

Letrsquos have a party You may have a birthday coming up for your child or simply
feel like a social gathering first things first set a date Obviously
choosing a school night is not recommended therefore pick a
weekend Set a limit of the number of people you want at the
party donrsquot forget to include any parents you may want to invite
As it is back to school time we suggest giving a few weeksrsquo
notice to your guests This will allow enough time for the children
to get back into the school routine You can pick up some
invitations from your local store or you can go one step further
and make them This can be a great parent bonding task that you
will all enjoy
Invitations are goThere are methods to create your invites these could be by hand
or digitally Once you have your invitations ready send them with
your child to school with a clear RSVP date and contact number
on them Remember to get an emergency contact number for
each child just in case
Slumber party food When you are planning your slumber party it is all about
preparation and food is a focal point of any party Deciding on
what food to have depends on how much time you have and

your budget Be sure to consider your guests and any dietary
requirements or allergies they may have Here are a few party
food favourites
PizzaYou canrsquot beat a good pizza It is easy to buy in cooks quickly
in the oven and it is a great party favourite If you have the
time consider making your pizzas by hand This way you can
customize them yourselves and decide what toppings go on
them You could even ask one of your little ones to help you
create a pajama shaped pizza
Ice cream After your party goers have finished off their food there is
always a space for Ice cream Why not get a selection of ice
cream cones and toppings for them to choose from This can
be chocolate chips fruit and ice cream sauces If you want to
choose a healthier option then frozen yoghurt is just as good
Popcorn A slumber party is not complete without movies and popcorn
You can buy this readymade or microwavable or make it yourself
We have opted for the homemade option and there are so many
different recipes One of our favourites is caramel popcorn It is
easy to make and requires a few basic ingredients This is ideal
for snacking on whilst watching movies

CerealsCereals are the perfect breakfast bite Instead of stocking up on
full size packs of cereal why not buy small packs Each serves
one person and this way your guests can choose which they
would prefer
Customize the small packs by adding decorations to them We
love the idea of attaching a spoon to the pack Then all you need
is a bowl and milk These tasty treats are sure to make your
slumber party a success

By now you should have already sent out your invitations to your
guests and received replies Now it is time to plan your party
games

Games at the readyGames are a great way of getting all your friends involved in
having lots of fun and there are plenty out there from traditional
games to the 21st century games console Here are a few great
ideas
Pick up a SkittleSkittles is a great game to play for any slumber party and involves
everyone If you havenrsquot had the opportunity to play this game
before then here is how You will need dice straws skittles
plastic cups and a bowl
First fill the bowl with skittles and place it in the centre of the
room Sit everyone in a circle around the bowl Ensure everyone
is armed with a cup and straw As the host you are the first
person to take your straw and suck a skittle up from the bowl
Here comes the hard part you must now (without touching it) get
the skittle on the end of your straw and put it into your cup
The aim of the skittles game is to collect the most into your cup
Meanwhile the person next to you rolls the dice When someone
rolls a six they grab the bowl and start getting skittles to put into
their cup

Once there are no more skittles left in the bowl this signifies the
end of the game Each person should count there cups to see
how many each person has The winner is the one with the most
skittles in their cup This is a great game to play and the best bit
of all is that you get to eat the skittles that are left in your cup
Spin the bottle- Nail varnish styleSpin the bottle is another game that will get everyone involved
in your slumber party You will need a collection of different
coloured nail varnishes (approximately 8-10) Try and make sure
these colours are quite different from each other You will also
need a bottle
Place the nail varnishes in a circle (similarly to the cups in the
skittles game) with the bottle in the middle of them Pick someone
to spin the bottle first Whichever nail varnish the bottle lands on
is the colour that person must paint one of their nails in
Do this until everyone has their finger nails painted You can also
play until your toe nails are painted too At the end of the game
you should all have multi coloured nails
Switch on the Wii ndash Sleepover Party The Nintendo Wii is a great console to use at your slumber party
and has a number of games for you to choose from You will need

to ensure you have your Wii controllers charged and ready to
play We recommend having 4 so that more of your friends can
get involved These games also use the Wii balance board if you
do not have one yourself and you know someone that does ask if
you can loan it from them for the night
One of our favourite Wii games is the ldquoSleepover Partyrdquo an
interactive game where you have plenty of games to choose from
using the Wii remotes and balance board
bull Fortune Teller Find the stars in the crystal ball and uncover them to reveal a prediction
bull Copy the Host Pick up the Wii remote and mimic Aimeersquos dance moves and actions
bull Burst Balloons Race to inflate and burst balloons before time runs out
bull Avoid the Pie Avoid the pies that are being fired at you
One of our favourites is Balance the Tray using the Wii balance
board The aim of the game is to prevent the items from dropping
off the tray This is a fun game that requires you to shift your
balance between sides to stop items falling off
What is so great about ldquoSleepover Partyrdquo is that it also has a
number of off-screen games including The Hollywood look where
you give each other a glamourous makeover This is a chance to
look and feel like a celebrity

For something a little more traditional Blind drawing is the game
for you All you need is a scarf paper and pencil The aim of the
game is to have the best drawing however this will prove difficult
blindfolded Choose somebody to judge the best drawing It is
lots of fun

Mean girlsMean girls stars Lindsay Lohan as the new girl in town She becomes a hit with the A-list ldquoplasticrdquo crew at school until she falls in love with the ex-boyfriend of the queen of the ldquoplasticsrdquo This film provides you with laughter cringe worthy moments and an unexpected ending
Easy AEmma Stone stars in the comedy Easy A Where she spreads rumors to gain a better reputation at her high school The only problem is that she begins to get a bad reputation and finds that the school begin to turn against her See her over turn the rumors and get her social status back on track This film is full of laughter
Bring it onKirsten Dunst realises that being the captain of her six-time championship winning cheerleading team is more difficult than

CoralineCoraline is an 11 year old girl who is curious and adventurous way beyond her years When her family relocate she realises how much she misses her friends and how lonely she is Her curiosity leads her to a secret door in her house where she discovers a different version of her life
GhostbustersGhostbusters is a classic must see movie A group of friends make it their mission to hunt the unfriendly ghosts of New York City Be prepared for a few frights and ghastly ghouls so get your pillows at the ready

Pick a themeWhen deciding which pajamas to choose there are many
different styles to choose from and this can depend on your
preferences or the theme of the party you are having If your
theme is purely pajamas then this gives you lots to choose from
If you are having a themed party such as a zoo theme then look
