Campus Monthly Bullen NOVEMBER 2016 Year 17 No. 11 SLU OPENS INTRAMURALS 2016 W ith the theme, “Rekindling the Flame of Uni- ty through Sports”, Saint Lou- is University jump started this academic year’s Intramurals last October 8, 2016 at the Prince Bernhard Gym. For this year’s Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, Allen Paul Sambrano from the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) and Andrea Fe Gomez from the School of Teacher Educaon and Liberal Arts (STELA) were crowned as the winners. Joji Tateoka from the School of Accountancy and Business Management (SABM) and Lyneree Wly Montero from the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) bagged the first runners-up place. Second runners-up were awarded to John Paul Calicdan from the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA), and Ara Isabel Diocos from the School of Medicine (SoM); and Third Runners-up were Winchister Apostol from STELA, and Cassandra Castro from the School of Nursing (SoN). This year’s Mr. and Ms. Intramurals also won all the minor awards of the pageant, namely Mr. and Ms. Avon, Mr. and Ms. Beauche, Mr. and Ms. Photogenic, Mr. and Ms. Prey Me, Best in Sports Wear, and Best in Casual Wear. The different schools in the university showcased their creavely-made mas- cots in the annual Mascot Compeon. This year’s champion is School of Medi- cine’s Med Lightyear, a health provider spin-off of the fa- mous cartoon character, Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. In second place is the School of Law’s Themis while in third place is School of Natural Sciences’ Gallus. Part of the opening ceremony was the awarding of last year’s winners. The third overall champions were the School of Teacher Educa- on and School of Natural Sciences, followed by the School of Accountancy and Business Man- agement as the second overall champion. Hailed as champion was the School of Engineering and Architecture. Ms. Honey Jerelyn M. Garcia, Director of the SLU Athlecs Office, declared the start of the SLU Intramurals 2016 a successful event. W ith the theme,

“Rekindling the Flame of Uni-ty through Sports”, Saint Lou-is University jump started this academic year’s Intramurals last October 8, 2016 at the Prince Bernhard Gym.

For this year’s Mr. and Ms. Intramurals, Allen Paul Sambrano from the School of Natural Sciences (SNS) and Andrea Fe Gomez

Louisian Pride. The SLU Architecture Team with a project entitled

“LUGLUGAN: A Therapeutic Communal Bath Archetype” has been shortlist-

ed as finalist by the international jury in the Archiprix Southeast Asia 2016

Design Competition. This was held last October 15 to 20, 2016 at the

School of Architecture, Building and Design, Institut Teknologi Bandung

SLU commits to participatory governance. In partnership with the Diocese

of Baguio and the Baguio We Want Movement, Saint Louis University an-

swers the call for Participatory Governance in connection with its Justice,

Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Education towards fostering a respon-

sible and active student body. The SLU Mass Communication Society initiated

the presscon in launching the new radio program “The Shepherd’s Voice”

which is hosted by former His Excellency Most Rev. Carlito J. Cenzon, CICM,

D.D. at DZWT 540 Radyo Totoo from 10AM – 12NN every third Friday of the
