Slope
The slope of a line is determined by any two points on a line and describes the steepness of the line. It is often referred to as rise and can be calculated using the formula: run
Given two points on the line known as (x1,y1) and (x2,y2):
slope = y2y1x2x1

Example 1 Find the slope of the line that passes through(1,2) and (3,4).
Use the slope equation: slope = y2y1x2x1

Example 2 Find the slope of the line that passes through(1,2) and (4,1).

Example 3 Find the slope of the line that passes through(1,2) and (1,2).
