ALUMINUM FRAMED CURTAIN WALL INCORPORATING THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: • VISION GLASS • MULLIONS SPACED MAX 63” OC • BOTTOM OF TRANSOM LOCATED MIN 0” FROM TOP SURFACE OF FLOOR • CURTAIN WALL ATTACHED TO FLOOR WITH MULLION MOUNTING BRACKETS • MIN 4-1/2” LONG NO. 12 GAUGE STEEL PINS SWAGED TO NOM 2” X 2” X 2” LONG NO. 28 GAUGE GALV STEEL
ANGLES. INSULATION HANGERS SCREW-ATTACHED TO MULLIONS WITH TWO NO. 10 BY MIN 1/2” LONG SELF-DRILLING, SELF-TAPPING STEEL SCREWS PER HANGER. INSULATION HANGERS SPACED MAX 8” OC.
• MIN 2” THICK (NOM 8 PCF) CURTAIN WALL INSULATION IMPALED ONTO STEEL PINS AND SECURED WITH NOM 1-1/2” STEEL LOCK WASHERS. CURTAIN WALL INSULATION MAY BE FLUSH OR RECESSED FROM INTERIOR FACE OF MULLIONS. CURTAIN WALL INSULATION TO BE INSTALLED WITH NO VERTICAL SEAMS.
• OPTIONAL: STEEL OR ALUMINUM SHADOWBOX INSTALLED BEHIND CURTAIN WALL INSULATION AND MECHANICALLY ATTACHED TO CURTAIN WALL FRAMING
• LINEAR GAP WIDTH BETWEEN EDGE OF SLAB AND CURTAIN WALL INSULATION IS MAX 6” 3. MINERAL WOOL BATT INSULATION, MIN 4 PCF, CUT TO A MIN WIDTH OF 4” AND STACKED TO ATTAIN A THICKNESS
25% GREATER THAN GAP WIDTH. MINERAL WOOL COMPRESSED 20% IN THICKNESS AND INSTALLED INTO GAP. MINERAL WOOL MAY BE FLUSH OR RECESSED FROM TOP SURFACE OF FLOOR.
4. SPECSEAL® AS200 ELASTOMERIC SPRAY OR SPECSEAL® FAST TACK™ FIRESTOP SPRAY APPLIED OVER
MINERAL WOOL ON TOP SIDE OF FLOOR TO A MIN 1/8” WET THICKNESS, OVERLAPPING SURROUNDING SUBSTRATES BY MIN 1/2”.
*NOTE: RATING OF THE PERIMETER FIRE BARRIER SYSTEM IS DEPENDENT ON THE PERFORMANCE OF THE
SURROUNDING SUBSTRATES UNDER FIRE EXPOSURE WITH A MAX POSSIBLE F RATING OF 2 HR.
