I would like to begin by saying thank you for allowing me to come to your school and present such an awesome innovation to you. You, the principal are the champion for your building as it relates to improving student achievement with the use of technology. 1

Skype is not just another cool gadget but it is making an impact in many classrooms, businesses, and even homes across the country. 2Why Skype? You are probably asking yourself why do we need Skype? Skype is an amazing innovation that not only can assist students but also teachers in your school. With the new Common Core standards, many leaders are trying to adopt products that will assist in meeting standards. Skype will prepare students with being college and Career ready as well as allow for teachers to interact their lessons with other classrooms around the world. Skype is used by teachers to assist with reaching educational goals. Videoconferencing will allow your students to connect with students who speak different languages, virtual field trips can assist with budgeting issues, and your teachers are able to reach out to experts in many different fields for real world application (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype).

-Skype is an internet video/voice over IP service and software that allows free and paid phone calls all over the world

-Founded in 2003 by Niklas Zennstrom and Janus Friis -Purchased by Ebay in 2005, but was sold a few years later

-In 2009, Skype teamed up with Intel to make the personal computer the tool used for the innovation

Although Skype was founded in 2003, it did not file to go public until 2010. Companies such as Google and Cisco sought to purchase Skype prior to its purchase by Microsoft in 2011. This innovation was so promising to the owners of Microsoft that they canceled their live messenger service in support of their new adopted innovation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype).

School Leaders have a desire to see improvement in student achievement through the use of technology. Also, this would be a centralized approach due to the fact that the principal is locked into budgeting concerns for equipment and other resources.

Roles of the change agents to effect positive social change

In order to motivate the teachers, the change agents must be pumped up by attending an exciting training on how to use the innovation.In order to prevent discontinuance, training and support are needed for your organization to have a successful adoption.

Your innovators and early adopters will play a very important role in the adoption process of this amazing innovation. Along with all the other great uses of this product, your teachers would be able to conduct parent conferences via Skype as well. There are so many parents that are unable to attend conferences for various reasons. Also, teachers will be able to connect with famous authors, and other experts. Must promote the innovation in a positive way

Show how it is being successful in other schools

Introduce it to the Technology Team First and get them on board

You may have some incentives for teachers implementing the innovation quickly and effectively

Im sure you are on the edge of your seat ready to adopt this innovation. Although, the critical mass has been reached in the public square, here are some ways to get all of your teacher and students on board. 18In Summary
