ARTS SCHOLARSHIPS In association with IdeasTap Sky Academy Arts Scholarships: Terms and Conditions 1. Applicants to the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships must be aged between 18-30 on 26 February 2015 and be a UK or Irish citizen, or have been a resident in the UK and Ireland for five years or more. 2. 7. If you have commercial representation then you must clearly state this in your application and this may affect the eligibility of your application. Eligibility depends on the details of your representation agreement and so we ask that you contact IdeasTap in advance to check you can still apply.

8. As a project applicant you must be able to include references from an individual/organisation you have worked with that supports the goal of your creative project.

9. Evidence of artistic merit, originality and the quality of your practice, including the planning, management of funds and ability to deliver will be the foremost consideration of the judges.

10. A minimum of 1/3 of the scholarship awarded must be used solely on the project outcome. An outcome could include an event, production, exhibition, performance or publication. The remaining scholarship may be divided as the artist sees fit. Living costs, travel expenses may be included and we encourage you to spend at least 1/3 of the scholarship on Living costs for the year. All scholarship winners must clearly and transparently document their expenses throughout the year.

11. All intellectual property in the applicants work will remain with and belong to the individual applicant. The application licenses Sky Academy and IdeasTap to use such Intellectual Property for the purposes of the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships.

12. Sky Academy and IdeasTap reserve the right to publicise and promote all applications and funded projects, including individual profiles, portfolio content and project summaries.

13. Successful applicants will be expected to promote the award, be available for interviews and participate in events such as receptions, press activities and launches for Sky, Sky Academy and IdeasTap.

14. All shortlisted applicants must ensure that they are available for the filming and documenting of their work and for any related editorial activity. Failure to do so will result in the disqualification of your application.

15. Sky retains rights to the film created and broadcast on Sky Arts about the artist.

16. Recipients of the Sky Academy Arts Scholarship must acknowledge Sky Academy and IdeasTaps support on every possible / relevant occasion including acknowledgment as principal funder of the final output/project and on any promotional material for your project.

17. With regards to data protection, Sky Academy and IdeasTap will use each winners, and each entrants, personal details for the purpose of administering this application. By applying for the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships you agree that Sky and IdeasTap may use the details you give us to contact you about each of our products/services.

18. The name, photograph and application of the successful applicants may be used by Sky Academy and IdeasTap for publicity purposes. The winners agree to allow Sky Academy and IdeasTap to use their name and likeness for advertising and publicity purposes in association with Sky Academy Arts Scholarships without additional remuneration.

19. Longlisted applicants will be invited to an assessment day at IdeasTaps London offices.

20. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to produce an in-depth budget and plan, outlining further details of their years work for the panel of judges. They will then be asked to present their proposals to the judging panel.

21. The Sky Academy Arts Scholarships judging panel will be made up of nine people from Sky and IdeasTap personnel and IdeasTap members as well as external professional artists.

22. Applications will be assessed with the following weighting:

Artistic quality and creativity 60%Ability to deliver 30%Application/portfolio 10%

23. Any costs incurred when putting together your application are the responsibility of the applicant.

24. Any expenditure incurred or committed before an award is granted is the responsibility of the applicant.

25. Selection of the winning projects remains the decision of the judges. The outcome of the judges decision is final. There will be no recourse to appeal if applications have not been successful. IdeasTap will provide feedback to unsuccessful shortlisted applicants. An article with general feedback will be published on IdeasTaps website for all other applicants.

26. Applicants must keep to the terms & conditions and not make any changes to the project without Sky Academy or IdeasTaps advance written permission. If an applicant deliberately gives any false or misleading information, the applicant will be withdrawn or, if already awarded the prize, will be asked to pay back any money awarded.

27. Incomplete applications will be considered ineligible.

28. The Sky Academy Arts Scholarships is open to the following artistic disciplines: performing arts, dance, music, visual arts, creative producing and creative writing.

29. Only one submission to each round of the Scholarship is permissible. The next round will open in autumn 2015.

30. Winning applicants will be awarded the funding in three installments: At the beginning of the project (40%) Following an interim report and confirmation with mentors (40%) At the end of the project (20%)

31. During the course of the bursary the successful applicants must offer themselves and/or evidence reasonably requested by IdeasTap to verify progress of the agreed project. All further installments due will be suspended until the applicant satisfies IdeasTaps enquiries. The final installment of the funding will be subject to independent verification from an organisation of the applicants choice to ensure the work committed to has been delivered. This organisation must be specified at the point of application. If in the opinion of Sky Academy and / or IdeasTap verification is not satisfactory the final installment will be withheld until evidence is provided and / or not awarded.

32. Applicants may seek additional funding for the project but such funding must not exceed the amount awarded by Sky Academy and IdeasTap.

33. Winning applicants will receive a business mentor from Sky who will meet with them three times over the course of the year. Travel expenses incurred by the winning applicant for these meetings will be covered by Sky Academy.

34. Entrants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and agreed to be bound by them when applying for Sky Academy Arts Scholarships

Projects not eligible for fundingThe following projects are not eligible for funding from the Sky Academy Arts Scholarships: Individuals/projects that will use the fund solely for the purchase of equipment (by equipment we mean musical instruments, computers, office equipment, multimedia and audio-visual equipment etc.) Projects that have commenced or completed before the assessment of the application. Artists/projects that have already received a bursary/funding over 30k and/or have sponsorship other than from Sky Academy Fundraising events. Activities for formal educational purposes set out by the national curriculum, e.g. Degree or MA courses.
