• Developed the existing internal, family team, into a functional collaborative executive team focused on growth andleadership. Through counselling, coaching, and training this team contributed to organizational realignment, delivery modelchanges, re-branding, and the impementation of innovative business practices and lean management. • Shifted the business development model from a direct product-sales model to a relationship-based sales model focused onproblem identification and problem solving. Provided Executive-Level operational leadership and guidance to three federal organizations as an appointee to President George W. Bush. • USDA - Complete day to day management control of the Department encompassing 150,000 people, $86.5B budget, 2600locations. Executed the mission through a team of 11 executives and senior staff members. Signed into regulation a requirement for producers/farmers to be paid for what was loaded into shipping as opposed to what arrived at port/destination. This protected the producer from shipping losses and incentivized the buyer to assure that shipping was adequate to protect the product.

• WH/EOP - Responsible for the day to day execution of the management plan for the highest executive office in the world.During this short assignment managed the transition of the White House Chief of Staff, assuring continuous service and support through management services. Restructured acquisition services and Presidential Travel.

• Peace Corps - Responsible for the day to day management of the world's largest and most famous International Developmentprogram. Implemented a world class property management program enhancing physical security and safety of Volunteers and Staff worldwide. Re-engineered the fleet management program saving $3M per year, permitting the launch of two new development programs. Established the Peace Corps Office of Global Health.

Highly respected Comptroller and Contracting Officer serving in many roles as a resource director. Became well known as an effective leader and pragmatic fiduciary trustee. Known for precise cost analysis, cost savings, and the ability to redistribute resources to gain operational effectiveness.

• At Naval Hospital Newport RI - As part of team that negotiated and implemented the Navy's first medical public -privatepartnership. Saving the taxpayer $26M by alleviating the cost of a new medical facility. Developed a medical programfinancing approach now recognized in industry as "capitated budgeting". 18 years later these programs continue to thrive.

• Catania, Sicily oversaw the contracting, outfitting, and staffing of a new family practice/surgical hospital on the Island ofSicily. Arranged for the redistribution of millions of dollars of equipment from US Hospitals in Germany closing as part ofdownsizing to the new facilty avoiding the cost of procuring new durable equipment.

• U.S. Naval Academy led the self-help renovation of a barracks to allow medical staff to live and train close to where theywork. Saving $1M in construction costs.

• HQ Navy Medicine, the Bureau of Medicine and Surgery as the Director for Resources of Navy Medicine's Education,Training, and Personnel program. Oversaw the evalaution and consolidation of Department of Defense medical trainingprograms reducing training costs by several million dollars annually.

• As a Hospital Corpsman became one of the most highly qualified enlisted aviation medicine specialists in the Navy.Achieving advanced cardiac and trauma life support certification and certification to fly as inflight medical support forSearch and Rescue missions.

• Appointed as a faculty member at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute teaching the Navy Instructor training program,Aviation Phsyiology, Aviation Medical Technician, and adjunct teaching the Naval Flight Surgeon Program in specializedsurvival equipment and training programs.
