O V E R V I E WNTTF - an Educational Foundation established in the year 1963, is the living symbol of Indo-Swiss co-operation aimed at promoting a purposeful Technical Education for the youth in India for which the seed was put in place at Thalassery in the year 1959. In its mission, the Foundation was actively supported with generous assistance from the Swiss Government, HEKS and Swiss Development Co-operation, a developmental agency of Switzerland. The Government of India and the State Governments have also extended their support. The Foundation implements its program of Technical Training through its more than 20 Training Centres located in various States across India. NTTF assists industries through its special collaborative initiative for producing quality manpower by establishing training centres in partnership with industry associates. Today, NTTF has been retained as “Skill Partner” by NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation). NTTF has also registered with many SSCs (Sector Skill Councils). NTTF is recognised as ‘NEEM’ Agent (National Employability Enhancement Mission) for conducting ‘Learn and Earn’ programmes. NTTF is registered with DGET (Directorate General of Employment & Training) for rolling out MES (Modular Employable Skills) programmes. Apart from these, NTTF has also partnered with many Ministry of Rural Devt., GOI, for conducting vocational skill development programs for the needy youth.

NTTF is governed by a Board of leading industrialists.

All NTTF programs and related curriculum are updated and revamped by an “Academic Council” under a team of eminent personalities representing academics & industry. Currently the Academic council is headed by Mr. M. S. S. Varadan, (MD, M/s. Om Consultants). The examination board of NTTF is chaired by Dr. H.S. Jamadagni (IISc, Bengaluru) along with prominent Govt. and industrial representatives.

NTTF offers various programs at Postgraduate Degree, Postgraduate Diploma, Post Diploma, Diploma and Certificate levels, apart from various non-formal / vocational programs. All the programs offered by NTTF are employment oriented and industry focused. A Faculty Development Centre has been set up at NTTF Dharwad in Karnataka state.

The trainees during the course learn to design and manufacture intricate Tools, Plastic Moulds, Die casting Dies, Jigs & Fixtures and Gauges, independently.

DIPLOMA IN MECHATRONICS (CP15)Three year Diploma Program is offered at Bengaluru, Dharwad, Coimbatore, Tuticorin, Vellore, Hyderabad, Tellicherry, Malappuram, Murbad, Jamshedpur, Gopalpur and Kumbakonam.The program aims to meet the requirements of the industries dealing with maintenance of CNC system, Automation, AC/DC drives, instrumentation, Power Electronics and Control systems. The Programme is designed to cater to the needs of industry looking for a one stop solution for trained personnel in the maintenance of plant equipment and machineries in terms of mechanical, electrical and electronics.

Syllabus includes Production Technology, Hydraulic and Pneumatics, Electrical and electronics Engineering, Theory of machines & Design of machine elements, Maintenance Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Environmental science, Industrial Management & Safety, and Production Management. Three year Diploma Program designed exclusively for PUC/ +2/ 12th Std passed students. Certificate levelCERTIFICATE PROGRAM IN PRECISIONMACHINIST (CPPM)One year Certificate program followed by one year industrial training is offered at Baddi, Dharwad and Tellicherry. This programme is focused to produce skilled tool room Machinists to support industries in India and abroad. After the course the trainee shall be capable of working independently on all conventional and non conventional tool room machines like Lathe, Milling, Grinding, Electric Discharge Machining (EDM), CNC Machining, Inspection, and Maintenance of machines, etc. The trainees during the course will learn Manufacture of parts of Press Tools, Moulds, Jigs and fixtures, and to produce precise components. The CPPM program will prepare the trainee to operate and set up machine tools for the machining industry. The student will learn general machining skills based on the skills and knowledge identified by the Industry. The student will learn how to interpret engineering drawing and AutoCAD, production planning, Computer-aided machining and programming techniques, quality control and how to operate precision measuring instruments are also emphasized in the program. The successful students can work as technicians in machine shops and tool rooms.

The trainees get sound knowledge in computer fundamentals, Industrial computing, office automation packages, web designing, hardware & network administration and trouble shooting. At the end of the program, the students will be able to manage the data entry operations of various kinds across the spectrum of all industries. The minimum qualification prescribed for this program is SSLC/10th Std. (10 years of schooling.)

NTTF’s “Learn and Earn” training model is a structured skill development model and a unique Student, Institute & Industry friendly program.Under this model, the trainee gets “on the job practical training” exposure in the industry (Learn) and also stipend to meet living expenses during training (Earn).

The program awards Certificate in Manufacturing Technology after 2 years of training and Diploma in Manufacturing Technology after 4 years of training. At the end of the training, Students have options to join any industry. The course curriculum is jointly developed by the Institute and Industry and offers a customised module for each Industry. The Academic class room training is imparted for 1-day and the rest of the 5 days in a week the students undergo On-the-job Practical training at the partnering industry.

NTTF is approved under AICTE - National Employability Enhancement Mission (NEEM), Regulations 2013 as a NEEM agent. This program is conducted as per AICTE, NEEM regulations partnering with the industries. All the students who are of 18-21 years of age and have successfully completed 10th Std / 12th standard or equivalent (in Science / Commerce/ Arts) are eligible for attending the entrance test for NTTF.
