1. Introduction

TheSKFTKTIThermalCameraSoftwareisaneasytouseWindowsbasedsoftwareforinfraredimageanalysisandreportcreation.ItcanonlybeusedwithimagestakenbytheSKFThermalCamerasTKTI21andTKTI31.ItcannotbeusedwithimagesfromotherSKFThermalCameramodels.

Thesoftwareandupdatescanbedownloadedfromwww.SKF.com.

TheSoftwarehasbeendesignedtobeeasytousewithnospecialskillsrequired,allowing:• Powerfulandquickinfraredimageanalysis.• Quickcreationofprofessionalreports.• Easilyloadingandselectionofinfraredimages.• Softwareinstallationonmanyuserscomputers.• Keyimageparameterstobeeasilymodified.• Creationandpreviewofcomprehensiveandprofessionalreportsinpdfand

wordformat.• Injustoneclick,printing,localsavingandemailingofreports.

1.1 InstallingandstartingtheSoftware

ToinstalltheSKFTKTIThermalCameraSoftwareontoaPC:

1. InserttheCDintothePCordownloadthesoftwarefromwww.SKF.com.2. UsewindowsexplorertoviewthefilesontheCD.3. Openandrunthefile“SKFTKTIThermalCamerasetup.exe”.4. FollowthestepstoinstallthesoftwareonyourPC.

Note:Microsoft.NETFrameworkversion4.0orlaterisrequired.Thesoftwarerequiresaminimumresolutionof1024x768.

OncethesoftwarehassuccessfullybeeninstalledaniconappearsonthePCDesktop.ThesoftwareisalsoaccessiblefromtheprogramlistintheWindowsStartmenu.

Tostartthesoftware,doubleclickonthisicon.

2. UsageNotes

• TheSKFTKTIThermalcamerasoftwareiscompatiblewiththeSKFTKTI21andSKFTKTI31.

• Theimagesloadedintheapplicationarecopiedlocallytotheuser’scomputer.Thispreventstheoriginalimagefrombeingcorrupted.

• TheoriginalimageisNEVERmodifiedordeletedbytheapplication.Onlythelocalcopyismodifiedandsaved.

• Theanalyzedimagesaresaved,bydefault,automaticallyeverytwominutes.• Auto-savealsosavesimageswhenanothertabisselectedandwhenthesoftwareis

closed.Itisrecommendedtokeepthisfeatureenabled. Thishelpsensurethatthemodificationsmadetotheimagearesavedintheeventa

powershortageorcomputercrash.• Onlysavedimageswillbeusedforgeneratingreports.• Reportswillalsobesavedautomaticallyontheuser’scomputer.

3. ImageProperties

• Theimagesaresavedinthecameraonamicro-SDcardinthefolderDCIM.• Theimagesarenamed“IR_X.jpg”withXbeingarunningnumberstartingwith

“IR_1.jpg”.• The.jpgimagecontainstheinfraredimage.Inadditionthedigitalimagewhensaved

andthevoicecommentwhenrecordedaresavedinthe.jpgimage.• The.jpgimagescanbevisualizedbyvirtuallyanyimageviewingsoftware.

3.1 LoadingimagesfromtheCamera

a) SwitchOnthecameraandwaituntilitisfullyoperational.b) ConnectthecameratothePCviatheUSBcable. UsetheminiUSBconnectorontherightsideofthecamera.

c) OpenWindowsExplorer,oranotherfilebrowser,toselectthemicroSDcardinthecamera.

d) Thiswillnormallybeshownasaremovabledisk.

Analternativetoloadingtheimagesformthecameraistoloadtheimagesdirectlyfromthemicro-SDcard:

a) Takethemicro-SDcardoutofthecameraandinsertintoasuitablecardreader(provided).

b) ConnectthememorycardreadertothePC.c) OpenWindowsExplorertoselectthefileswiththeimagesonthemicro-SDcard.

4. ImageSelection

4.1 Foldercreation

Theimagesareplacedinfolders.Reportscanbecreatedwiththeimagescontainedinafolder.

a) ClickonthebuttoncircledinredonFigure6toaddafolder.b) TypeafoldernameandclickOKorpresstheEnterkey.

Byrightclickingonafolder,itispossibletoaddasub-folder.Folderscanalsoberenamedordeletedusingtherightclickfunction.

Note: Thefirstfoldercanalsobecreatedautomaticallywhennofolderhasbeenpreviouslycreated.

4.2 Imageloading

Imagescanbeloadedbyclickingonthe“LoadImages”buttonhighlightedinredonFigure6.

Selectanyimageonthememorycardorotherstoragelocationtoautomaticallyloadall imagescontainedinafolder.Itisnotpossibletoloadtwoimageswiththesametitle.Tosolvethisissueeithercreateanewfolderorrenametheimage.

Note: Itisalsopossibletoloadonlytheselectedimages,unchecktheoption“Automaticallyloadallfilesfromthesourcefolderonimageloading”inthesettingswindow.

4.3 Imageselection

• Hoverthemouseoveranyimagetoinstantlyseeintherightpanel,ofthewindow,alargerviewoftheinfraredimageasrecordedbythecamera,thedigitalimage(whenpresent)andtheimageproperties.

• Imagescanbesortedbytitleorbydate.• Imagescanbedisplayedasthumbnailsorasalist.• Selectedimagescanbedeletedbyclickingon“delete”oncetheimagestobedeleted

areselected.

Toselectimagesforfurtheranalysis,clickonceontheimagetohighlighttheminyellow.Clickagainonanimagetodeselectit.Allimageshighlightedinyellowwillbeselectedfor“2 Image Analysis”.

Thespottemperaturesshowthetemperatureofagivenpoint.Spotscanbedraggedanywhereontheimage.Spot temperature difference:ChoosetwospotsincludingMinandMaxtoshowthetemperaturedifferencebetweenthesetwo.

5.3.2 Areas:Rectangles,CirclesandLines

Areasareusefultomeasurethetemperatureinazonelargerthanaspot.Foreachrectangle,circleorline,theusercanseetheminimum,maximumandaveragetemperatureinthemeasurementbar.Tomodifyanareadimensions,clickontheareaiconnexttoitsnumberontheimageorselecttheareaintherightbar.Todraganarea,clickontheareaiconnexttoitsnumberontheimageanddragthearea.

5.3.3 Marks,Notes,Arrows

ThesecanbeusedonboththeInfraredandthevisualimages.Markswillspotalocationontheimage;thetextassociatedwillbeintheMeasurementsbar.Notesallowwritingtextdirectlyontheimage.Arrowsallowdrawinganarrowontheimage.

• Title page image: Thefirstinfraredimageintheleftpanelisusedasafrontpageimagebydefault.Anotherinfraredimagefromtheleftpanelcanbeselectedbyclickingonthe“CHANGE”button.
