Community Produce Giveaway Our first Community Produce Giveaway for the season
was a huge success! Julie Dietz from Seton Harvest
brought their Veggie Van full of fresh produce. Julie and our Health
Ministry team pre-bagged vegetables from Seton Harvest along
with vegetables & fruits donated by parishioners.
We gave away 54 bags of vegetables in about thirteen minutes!
Our Health Ministry team set up a table with bottled water and
Meagan Brothers from Purdue Extension Vanderburgh County
provided delicious recipes that incorporate vegetables into healthy
meals. Tina Schutte and the Praise Band treated our neighbors to
beautiful music on the porch of the Rectory.
Thank you, parishioners, for sharing your vegetables with our

Questions of the Week
Scripture
First Reading
The Jewish sage speaks of God as master of all
who judges us with clemency and governs us with
leniency. What are some areas of your life that make
you grateful for a merciful God?
Second Reading
Paul teaches the Christians in Rome that the Spirit
helps us “to pray as we ought.” When do you find
yourself most at prayer?
Gospel Reading
We hear today a series of parables describing aspects
of the kingdom of heaven: the parable of the weeds
among the wheat, the parable of the mustard seed,
and the parable of the yeast. What do you think
makes Jesus’ parables such an effective method for
teaching about the mystery of the kingdom of
heaven?
We Care Fund Applications
All Saints has been very generous to this
fund dedicated to helping those in
economic hardship because of the
epidemic. We are happy to report that nearly $15,000
has been donated to this fund. $5,500 has been
disbursed to 12 households to help them with
mortgages, rents, utilities and food. If you know
someone in need, please direct them to our website or
app to fill out an application.
Donations Made by the Parish in July All Saints Parish is a steward of God’s gifts.
Most “special collections” have been eliminated
as we give a portion of our regular collection
to the following causes:
$481.25 CAJE
Watch & Learn Video Series
A new video series has been added
to the Parish Family app button.
Watch & Learn video series will have several

All Saints Women's Group
During this Covid time and the shutdown, many of our
normal activities have been put on hold accordingly.
Our Women's Group, however, have kept plugging
right along meeting online via Zoom.
They also decided to do outreach ministries to those
whose normal activities were likely curtailed and who
they thought could use some moral support.
We recognize their spunk during this extraordinary
time and thank them for their on-going good service.
Long Term Parish Planning Effort
We are excited to begin a long term parish planning
effort. Thank you to everyone who completed the
survey! We received 213 responses to the parishioner
survey and 61 responses to the non-parishioner
survey. This input will inform how we move forward
with our planning efforts. The planning team is
currently reviewing the responses and determining
our next steps.
Please join us in thanking the following members of
our planning committee: Laura Ackerman, Tom
Bogenschutz, Emma Jean Couture, Fr. Jay Davidson,
Deavron Farmer, Fr. Ken Knapp, Fred Mulfinger, Gayle
Uebelhor, and Sharon Vogler.
We sincerely hope this process will help us create a
vision for All Saints that will allow us to further our
mission. You will be hearing more about this process
in the coming weeks and months, and we would
appreciate your prayers.

Justice Challenge
16th Week in Ordinary Time
In today’s first reading from the Book of Wisdom
12:18-19, we hear of God’s loving and forgiving
relationship with us.
“But though you are master of might, you judge with
clemency, and with much lenience you govern us;
for power, whenever you will, attends you.
And you taught your people, by these deeds,
that those who are just must be kind;
and you gave your children good ground for hope
that you would permit repentance for their sins.”
In this time of pandemic…
…when how we spend our time is different than it ever
has been
…when we may be spending more time with family
than before
…when we may be spending more time with ourselves
than before…
Who in our life needs to know of God’s forgiveness
and love for them?
How can we be God’s forgiveness and love?
Last week, Jesus reminded us, “But blessed are your
eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they
hear. Amen, I say to you, many prophets and righteous
people longed to see what you see but did not see it,
and to hear what you hear but did not hear it.”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus shares three parables...
…the parable of the sower
…the parable of the mustard seed
…the parable of the yeast
So, if we indeed can see and hear the meaning of Jesus’
parables, what are we called to do this week?
Can we identify the weeds in our lives? If these weeds
are personal characteristics or habits, how easy is it for
us to change? Are we willing to change?
If we can be that mustard seed or that yeast in life,
what is God calling us to?
How can we make someone else’s life better? How can
we look at someone without judgement and share
God’s love with them? How can we work for justice in
our home, community, world?
