Bar- bara Chuncich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Chuncich of 19230 Blake Street, re- ceived her B. of S. Degree in Art Education, Tuesday, Jan- uary 29, 1957, from the Wayne State University. She had completed her degree requirements in August and has been teaching at the Scripps Ele- mentary School in Detroit. She is also instructing a talent«! art class at the Nolan Junior High School on Saturday mornings. Recently, she had been elected as the Secretary of the Southeast District Art Teachers and is a member of the Detroit Art Teachers Ad- visory Board. While attending Wayne State University she was a member of the Art Education Club and Alpha Sigma Alpha, Social Sorority. In April, 1957, she was elected secre- tary of the sorority and was president of her pledge class of September, 1956. Barbara's interests are the arts in general. She loves to read plays in her spare time, and is enthusiastic about modern dance. Her other in- terests are sewing, painting, jewelry making, and Yugo- slav Kolos. Since she has become a member of CFU Lodge 351, Barbara has joined the bowling league, which meets on Sundays, at the Log Cabin Bowling Alley. She is already looking for- ward to the CFU bowling tournament in Cleveland, Ohio, in May. Sis. Chuncich enjoys teach- ing very much and finds there is never a dull moment with children. At the present time, she is enrolled at Wayne State University and is work- ing on her Masters in Art Ed- ucation. Michael Matkovicli, Sec'y. I She was born in Cleve- land on Januar}' 29, 1939, the daughter of Jacob and Mary (Piskuric) Rahija, members of Lodges 99 and 47, respectively. Mr. Rahija comes from Selo Mosenci and Mrs. Rahija was born In Johnstown, Pa. Mary Ann attended St. j P a u l's Croatian Parochial I School and was an honor stu- i dent during her four years at Notre Dame Academy, from which she graduated in June, i 1956. She is now attending [St. John's College, where she ! is studying elementary school I teaching. While in high school, Mary Ann was a member of the Student Council, the Sodality, and the Drama- tics Club. She has equally been active as a member of the CFU Junior Bowling League, St. Pauls Church League, and the St. Paul's Sacred Heart Sodality. Officers have been uni- ted and we are on the road to progress. Great interest ham been shown by the few that are now participating and we know that more children are interested. We, therefore, ask the par- ents to please see that your children attend the meetings and take part in the activities. The officers also have plans for the younger children, so that all will share in our in- terests. In order to have appropri- ate funds, there will be a drawing for a $50 US Savings Bond on April 14. Great interest ham been shown by the few that are now participating and we know that more children are interested.

We, therefore, ask the par­ents to please see that your children attend the meetings and take part in the activities. The officers also have plans for the younger children, so that all will share in our in­terests.

In order to have appropri­ate funds, there will be a drawing for a $50 US Savings Bond on April 14. Two books of tickets will be given to each family with nest mem­bers, and we are hoping they will make an effort to sell them. An award of $5 will be given to the child credited with the most sales.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — At the last regular meeting of the Central Committee of the CFU Lodges of Southern Calif., plans for the annual picnic got a rolling start.

The date is set for Sun­day, June 30, at the spa­cious Ford Blvd. picnic grounds, 330 So. Ford Blvd. We have already en­gaged the popular Hajduk Tamburitzans, whose songs and music have given us so much pleasure. For all those who will stay

on through the evening, and the many old and young peo­ple who will come especially for the evening, we will have the fine dance music of the Tomazin Brothers.
