The Six Companies, which willbuild Hoover dam, has passed fromthe syndicate stage to a big unit ofits own.

With announcement yesterday atthe st. Francis Hospital by W. H.Wattis, president of Six Companies,of its "set-up," the great construc-tion organization took on a majorentity.

In a little talk before officers ofthe Six Companies, themselvesheads of large concerns, Wattissaid "All the Six are now one, witha plain understanding of what theywill do."

The contract for the world's larg-. est private construction job is ex-pected to reach here today from theEast, and to receive the signaturesof executives.

Until the contract with the Gov-ernment is signed, the Six Com-panies will not spend any consider"able sum;officials say.

ARIZONA FIGHT PENDINGWith' Arizona's fight on Hoover

dam pending in the Supreme Courtat Washington, the full signature ofthe contract is regarded by the offi-cials as a necessary safeguard forthe Six Companies.

President Wattis said yesterdaythe financial details of the Hooverdam job are complete.

The construction committee mem-bers, H. J. Lawler, E. 6. Wattis,Charles A. Shea, H. W. Morrisonand W. A. Bechtel Jr., plans to leavetoday for Boulder canyon to workout construction arrangements.

The purchasing committee is com-posed of S. D. Bechtel, chairman;Allan MacDonald and L. S. Corey.

H. J. Kaiser heads the BoulderCity. committee, which will dealwith housing, feeding, merchandis-ing and concession matters. Servingwith him are F. T. Crowe, Felix 'Kahn and K. K. Bechtel.

COMMITTEE NAMEDThe transportation committee,

which will deal with transportationto and from the dam, is headed l:.yS. D. Bechtel. F. T. Crowe, FelixKahn and K. K.·Bechtel also areon this committee.

With the departure of the con-struction committee scheduled to-day, the executives felt they mightbe scattered hither and yon here-after so they had their picturestaken together yesterday.

Mrs. W. H.' Wattis, devoted nurseof her husband, who is receiving theCoffey-Humber cancer extract atthe St. Francis Hospital, and Mrs.Lawler were also present.

The "big fellows" of Western con-struction who are Six Companiesexecutives, were in jubilant mood.W. H. Wattis joked with the photog-raphers, telling them not to getnames switched of the photographedwives.

The Six Companies head looks Iand says he feels much better. FelixKahn declared there was a newcancer remedy, "Boulder dam con-tracts."
