STEP BY STEP TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE FOR SIV

    SIV NOT STARTING

    Checking sign:

    While pressing BLRDJ;

    LSDJ Extinguishes

UA meter deviates, butNo sound from Auxiliaries and

    LSCHBA remains glowing

    1.

    Check CCINV and CCA fuses.

    2. If melts, renew with spare fuse.

    3. If again melts, keep HOBA in OFF and renew the fuse.

    4. If CCINV and CCA are in good condition, check the QSVM relay.

    5. If not energised, wedge QSVM in energised condition

    6. Check whether QV 60 relay is in de-energised condition.

Switch ON BLDJ, BLCP & BLVMT then press BLRD

Before closing DJ, ensure BLVMT is switched ON to avoid SIV over loading

    COMPRESSOR NOT WORKING

    Ensure BLCP/BLCPD is switched ON.

Check whether QTD 101 is energised.

If QTD 101 is not energised, Wedge QTD 101 in energised condition.

If QTD 101 is wedged, wait for 5 seconds after LSCHBA extinguishes and then Switch ON

    BLCP/BLCPD

DJ tripping within 15 seconds after LSCHBA extinguishes

    CAUSES: DEFECTIVE:

MVSL 1 or QVSL 1 Keep HVSL-1 in 3 position

MVSL 2 or QVSL 2 Keep HVSL-2 in 3 position

MPH or QPH Keep HPH-1 in 3 position

    MVMT 1or QVMT 1 Keep HVMT-1 in 3 position

MVMT 2 or QVMT 2 Keep HVMT-2 in 3 position

MVRH or QVRH Keep HVRH in 3 position

If DJ is not tripping after keeping switches as above, check the working of aux. motors and

normalize the switches one by one.

After normalizing the switch if again DJ trips, keep the particular switch in 3 position and

    resume traction.

If any auxiliary motor is not working, trouble shoot as per TSD.

DJ tripping after taking 1st notchTrouble shoot for Operation-I

DJ tripping after taking 6th notch

    Trouble shoot for Operation-II

    DJ Tripping with LSSIT

    Reason:

Any internal Fault in SIV unit, like

    1. Fan fault

    2.

    Rectifier fault3. Fuse melted

    4. Inverter fault

    5. Control electronic circuit fault

Any External Fault (Auxiliary circuit), like

    1. Earth fault (Any terminal touching the loco body)

    2.

    Short circuit (Winding Short circuit)

    3. Single phasing ( Due to one phase is open circuited)

    4. Over Load (Bearing seized and Impeller broken etc.,)

If any External or Internal fault is sensed by SIV control electronics then,

SIV stops & restarts with LSCHBA glowing for 2 to 5 times normally (in AAL

    Type)

DJ trips with LSSIT after few seconds without restarting (in SIEMENS Type)

But DJ is in remain closed condition and UA meter is deviating

If trouble is not rectified, DJ trips through relay QSIT and LSSIT lampglows in drivers

    desk.

Note: For some internal faults, DJ trips with LSSIT immediately without restarting

    DJ Tripping with LSSIT

    Trouble Shooting Procedure:

Check the aux. Power circuit for any abnormality likesmoke, smell, fire etc.,

Check the display panel of SIV

Switch OFF HBA for few seconds and Switch ON again

Re-close DJ, if SIV starts and LSCHBA extinguishes, resume traction

If again SIV stops & restarts or DJ trips with LSSIT

    1. Keep HRA-1&2 and HVT in 0 and remove CCSPM

    Or

    2. Keep HRAVT in 0 or 3 position and remove CCSPM.

    3.

If switches are not provided, Remove CCRA-1&2, CCVT and CCSPM,

    4. Switch OFF ZRT, BLRA

    5. Do not switch on BLCP & BLVMT

    6. Re-close DJ, if again DJ trips with LSSIT

    7. Keep the following isolating switches in 0

    1. HVSL- 1&2 in 0

    2.

    HVSI- 1&2 in 0

    3. HPH in 0

    8.

    Close DJ

If SIV starts normally, Trouble is in Aux. power circuit

Switch ON BLCP or BLCPD, if SIV shut down/ DJ trips with LSSIT, change HCP

    position and try

Switch ON - BLVMT if SIV shut down/ DJ trips with LSSIT, keep HVRH, HVMT-1 &

HVMT-2 in 0 position and try

Normalise the switch one by one

After Switching ON BLCP & BLVMT, no abnormality is noticed then

    Normalise HVSL-1, HVSL-2, HVSI-1, HVSI-2 & HPH to 1 position one by one

After changing the position to 1 if SIV shut down/ DJ trips with LSSIT, isolate the

    particular auxiliary load

Follow the procedure as per TSD for isolation of auxiliary motor

Note: Isolating switch to be operated only when DJ is in open condition

Even after isolating all the auxiliary loads, if DJ trips with LSSIT + EARTH FAULT

indication appears in display panel, follow the procedure
