Our Grade T (Grade 8 ) chain slings are recommended for use in a industrial environments where fl exibility, strength, resistance and long life are required.

In the case of multi-leg slings, the angle between the legs is critical. The actual tension on each leg increases when the angle between the legs increases as shown in the diagram opposite. For this reason all general purpose chain slings are given a rating based upon use at 90º inc. angle. The included angle between the legs should never exceed 120º.

The distance between the crane hook and the load is known as the “Head Room”. If a specifi c head room is required, the “Reach” of the chain sling must increase as the angle between the legs increases as shown opposite.

The reach of a chain sling is the distance between bearing points of the upper and lower terminal fi ttings. This distance, commonly known as the “Bearing to Bearing” should be quoted when ordering slings. Shortening clutches may be fi tted to a sling, making the reach adjustable, hence increasing the versatility of the sling.

Recommended Load Factors for unusual slinging methods and conditions. Factor normally applied to W.L.L. of a Single Chain.

Grade ‘T’ (8) Chain BS EN 818-2

Properties:

Working Load Limited (W.L.L.) is the maximum load which chain or components are designed to sustain in lifting use. The mean stress at this load is 200n/mm2 (MPA) and is based on a factor of safety of 4:1.

Manufacturing Proof Force (M.P.F.) is the force to which during manufacture chain or components are subjected. The mean stress at this load is 500n/mm2 (MPA) which is 2.5 times the working load limit.

Minimum Breaking Load (M.B.L.) is the minimum force which chain or components must withstand before failure. The mean stress at this load is 800n/mm2 (MPA). The minimum elongation before failure is 20%.

CM LoadstarThe loadstar is a tough and durable electric chain hoist, designed to keep working in the most arduous applications. This hoist is recognised and proven, within the hire industry as the number one hoist where high duty, combined with long heights of lift are required.

CGG Range

These cylinders are particularly suitable for applications in which the load has to be supported for long periods.

The lock nut can be screwed down onto the cylinder body to hold the load mechanically.

This ensures that operation under load is absolutely safe.

CGS Range

CGS cylinders also have concentric grooves machined into the end of the rod to improve load grip, models above 30 tonne have lifting eyelets for ease of transport. From 50 tonnes upwards, the cylinders are plunging type and have device which prevents any over-stroke.

The rod has a coloured zone which becomes visible 10 mm before the end of the piston stroke. All models can operate with off centred load up to 8% of their nominal capacity.

Pumps

EN 60204

The electric parts of the machines are made according to the standard of EN 60204

PL Range

PL hand pumps are very lightweight and on some models their weight is over 50% less when compared to traditional products. PL hand pumps deliver exceptional volumes of oil per stroke and require very low handle effort even at maximum working pressure.

They are made from light alloy metal normally used in the aviation industry and have excellent durability and mechanical resistance.PL pumps can work vertically with the pumping head pointing downward.

MPL Range

Air-Hydraulic Pumps are extremely light and versatile. Test results show how exceptionally reliable and suitable they are for the most diffi cult uses thanks to their unique design.

All the pumps (version K excluded, which has a pressure reducer) have a maximum pressure valve non adjustable from the outside. The outward pressure can be adjusted varying the inward air pressure.

Gauges

Certifi cation for design, manufacturing, marketing and repair of high pressure components.

G Range

Available with 63 or 100 mm dial with read-out in bar and PSI. The 1000 bar gauges are glycerine fi lled while the 1600, 2500, 4000 bar are dry.
