Limitations During the Research Study : -
The study was conducted in Four districts only.
Paucity of time : As thirty places had to be studied which, were scattered
geographically took more time. Again heavy rain at the time of interview
also added to this problem.
Non-response errors due to lack of interest : This type of errors occur if some
members of a sample were not contacted and hence their responses were not
included in the study; or if some of the members contacted provide an
incomplete or no responses to the survey instrument. The primary reasons
for this error occurring include the unwillingness of respondents to
participate in the study and the inability of the interviewer to contact the
respondents. This can also happen due to the conservative nature of the
women members and lack of time due to busy in their work.
Inaccuracy in response : This is because of tendency to give responses
taking into consideration of social acceptability.
Possibility of interviewer’s error : This error occurs while interfering with or
fail to follow the exact procedure while collecting data. Also error arises
from improper recording the respondent’s answers.
Limited financial resources to make our study covering best level of significance.
We were not able to measure the responses of all social classes because of limited resources.

CSMM : Our Studies
The various studies done by CSMM are :
Customer Relationship Assessment (CRA) :was built using Walker Information's vast experience in market research and customer satisfaction. Creating, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships is essential to sustain business success. CRA goes beyond customer satisfaction, beyond quality management, and focuses on customer commitment and loyalty to your organization
Customer Transaction Assessment (CTA) :The CTA is designed to measure customer perceptions of your performance on specific transactions. Interactions with customers can be measured and analyzed to improve customer experience and increase their loyalty to you and your products and services.
Lost Customers Assessment (LCA) : The LCA addresses the costly effects on value creation and long-term profitability of customer turnover and discontinued customer relationship. It identifies the root causes of customer attrition and develops profiles of the current customers at risk and former customers who may be recoverable.
Employee Relationship Report (ERR) : The ERR is a tool that provides a fast, affordable way to measure the level of employee commitment and identify factors affecting commitment. The ERR is not only an "employee satisfaction" survey, it provides you with information on how to reduce turnover, implement programs that have the greatest impact on employee commitment and satisfaction. It provides benchmarks for measuring ongoing improvement efforts and activities.
Reputation & Stakeholder Assessment (RSA) : The RSA is the most comprehensive tool available for measuring and managing corporate reputation. What makes the RSA unique is that it offers an in-depth and complete picture of a company's reputation.
The RSA tells you: o How important stakeholders feel about your company o How your company is performing in these areas o What matters most to respective constituent groups o What your priorities should be to maximize impact and resources
Corporate reputation is a company's greatest intangible asset and it can be either a great benefit or a frustrating liability. Although organizations cannot control all aspects of their reputation, companies have a large role in determining how others perceive them.
Supplier Relationship Report (SRR) : The SRR is an in-depth survey that effectively measures supplier relationships. The SRR will show your business what matters most to your employees and how your company is performing-basically an assessment of what kind of company you are to do business with. The SRR shows you:
o What percentage of your suppliers are truly loyal o How committed are individual suppliers o Which factors have the greatest influence on supplier commitment o How your supplier relationship compare to their other customers o What your strategic improvement priorities should be
You depend on your suppliers to provide you goods and services so you can concentrate on your business; however, you cannot serve your customers if your supply chain breaks. The SRR helps you strengthen your supplier relationships by managing them more effectively.

Most of the consultants/project director in Business and Industrial Research Division come from the engineering, science and technology stream with considerable prior understanding of business and industrial products and services. Our ability to serve you has a strong professional foundation as discussed below:
Relevant Experience: Many of our consultants/project directors have specific experience in the marketing of industrial products and services and therefore have a deep, hands-on understanding of the marketing tools, methods, techniques and approaches available with the industrial marketer, and the relative merits and demerits of each. This understanding, drawn over a variety of industries and market segments, when adapted or applied to a specific industry significantly expands the marketers horizons.
Expertise: Most of our senior project directors and business group managers have been working on business and industrial market research assignments for several years exposing them to a wide variety of industrial marketing problem and situations. This wealth of knowledge and experience in
problem solving is available as a resource across the national network of the division, thereby making available to each client a large internal resource base.
Effective Internal Processes: While the broad process of research is based on IMRB International framework, significant adaptations have been made in the role and involvement of different functional personnel with a view to add the requisite value at different stages of the process. For example, while the information collection function is handled by the large, multi-stage field infrastructure that has been suitably built for market research over the years, the function is closely supported by an operations wing exclusively working on business and industrial projects, which ensures a through understanding of stimuli and response at various stages in the information collection process, and in different industrial situations. Such measures have ensured that the quality of information collected matches closely with the specific requirements of industrial marketing.
BIRD : Information Services
The Business and Industrial Research Division operates and manages an information office; the personnel of which have the necessary skills and experience in collecting, collating and classifying secondary data on a wide variety of industrial products, services and markets. The division utilises the services of state-of-the-art information scanning and retrieving hardware and software that ensure periodic updating and timely retrieval. The services of the information office add significant value to the division's clients.
BIRD : Industry Specific Experience
Since the expertise of the Business and Industrial Research Division is in industrial and business marketing support, virtually any product or industry segment can be researched by the division with equal proficiency. However, over the years, certain industries have been the source of a larger share of the assignments resulting in the building up of specific experience in these industries across the national network of the division.

"It took 50 years for the world to have 50 million telephones and only 5 years for Internet to reach 50 million users."
"There is a tremendous excitement in India surrounding the Internet. We have been wanting to come to India for sometime now. In fact, India today is like the US was some three years ago."
As the technology evolves and creates communications infrastructure, barriers to progress continue to arise. Some problems are technical, economic or policy-related, while the hardest combine all three aspects in any country.
"What you know is wrong!"

IMRB International's Divisions: SRI The Social and Rural Research Institute (SRI) was set up in 1990 with the objective of establishing a specialist unit to give focus and identity to two aspects of research that IMRB International had, in fact, been actively involved in for several years, namely, social research and research of and for rural markets .
SRI uses a combination of desk research, qualitative research techniques such as focus group discussions and participatory research as well as quantitative research techniques. In addition SRI approaches each research subject with an open mind and adapts market research techniques to suit the special requirements of illiteracy, poor articulation, several languages and dialects.
SRI has two distinct missions that guide its operations: To study social issues with commitment, expertise, objectivity and an orientation towards actionability, and to set up databases and research expertise with regard to marketing in rural India , where hitherto there has been a paucity of data.
SRI guided by its mission specialises in conducting Social research and Rural research. Social research deals with research on causes and issues that can contribute to action which would bring about social change. Rural research pertains to research in, of and for rural areas, both for social issues as well as for rural marketing.
Coverage SRI takes pride in having the resources to conduct data collection in almost any part of the country. It can undertake nation wide surveys almost simultaneously and much faster than others. In last three years, we have undertaken four nation wide surveys and have our presence in almost all parts of the country.

Predicting Customer Behavior with the help of their survey responses and demographic details and here we can do Logistic regression and Discriminant analysis
Canonical Correlation - With the help of canonical correlation we can take two sets of variables and show what is common amongst the two sets. We can also use canonical correlation analysis to produce a model equation which relates two sets of variables and also you can gain insight into what dimensions are common between the variables and how much variance is shared
Commenting, Research Report Writing & Charting
Research reports and presentations are the end output of the tedious and absorbing market research exercise. Successful reports not only highlight the key outcomes of the study but also leave an impact on the minds of your clients. The process of converting market research data into highly effective and insightful reports and presentations requires thorough understanding of that particular industry, study subject and close coordination between the client and the research team.
Our team use editable PPT charts in-line with your charting instructions to represent selected data (DP tables) to create PowerPoint shells for you. We use your inputs to develop presentations for your clients. Data is analyzed as per your analysis plan or one developed by our team.
We can draw inferences from research findings and add them in the presentation in such a way that the key issues in each slide are highlighted. The final output is a near final presentation including executive summary. If you are running trackers or multi-country studies with similar PowerPoint decks required for each wave/country then our team can closely mimic your commenting style and update all your presentations.

LITERATURE VIEW
INTRODUCTION
Research is the process of collecting and analyzing information about
the customers you want to reach, called your target market. This
information provides you with the business intelligence you need to make
informed decisions. Market research can help you create a business plan,
launch a new product or service, fine tune your existing products and
services, expand into new markets, develop an advertising campaign, set
prices, and/or select a business location.
Market research and marketing research are often confused. 'Market
research is simply research into a specific market. It is a very narrow
concept. 'Marketing' research is much broader. It not only includes 'market’
research, but also areas such as research into new products, or modes of
distribution such as via the Internet. Here are a couple of definitions:
"Marketing research is the function that links the consumer, customer, and
public to the marketer through information - information used to identify and
define marketing opportunities and problems; generate, refine, and
evaluate marketing actions; monitor marketing performance; and improve
understanding of marketing as a process. Marketing research specifies the
information required to address these issues, designs the methods for
collecting information, manages and implements the data collection
process, analyzes, and communicates the findings and their implications."
American Marketing association - Official Definition of Marketing Research
Obviously, this is a very long and involved definition of marketing research
"Marketing research is about researching the whole of a company's
marketing process."
What Is Market Research?
In its broadest definition, market research includes everything that
provides information about your current or potential markets. The three
broadest categories are shown below.
Researching current customers Customer research can define what types of people are using your
products or services, for what purpose, in what situation, and with what
attitudes and opinions. Almost any aspects of a company’s business can
be researched to ensure the best possible operations are in place, be it
basic processes management, complex niche branding development, or
the strategic reduction in customer churn or lost value.
Researching potential customers These are market research projects with a wider scope, conducted to
find out how the products, brands or services provided by you and / or
your competitors are used and perceived in the overall market. This
research is especially valuable for identifying customer acquisition
opportunities.
Market share information This information is descriptive information about what is actually
being bought and consumed in the market. Examples include
supermarket scanning (what’s being bought?), radio, television, and
internet ratings, or readership and circulation data.
In markets dominated by a small number of businesses, who cannot
obtain such data through existing research or government statistics,
market research companies can sometimes establish specialist data-
sharing progammes to enable this data to be collated on a confidential
basis.
Public Sector / Non-commercial researchThe public sector in New Zealand is a major user of market research, with
both local and central government bodies increasingly using market
research organizations to help with policy development, stakeholder
consultation, and community feedback. Although traditional forms of
governmental public consultation (e.g. public submissions and community
forums) still have their place, the increased financial and performance
pressures faced by much of the public sector have led to a greater
demand for more accountable, accurate and strategic research.
Such research must be sensitive to the underlying political issues at hand,
as well as totally robust and able to withstand public, political and media
scrutiny. In contrast, the public consultation process of submissions does
not provide a representative reflection of the views of the whole
community - properly conducted surveys with a genuinely random sample
of the population are required to ensure that community opinion is
understood.
Market research examples
In essence, research is used to find out whatever it is that the marketer
needs to know to make decisions about how to market a product or
service. These decisions include advertising and promotion, product
design, packaging, pricing levels - all the activities aimed at optimising the
profitability of a product in its available market.
Just a few examples include…
new product or service development
advertising assessment
mystery shopping
customer satisfaction research
customer commitment research
brand assessment and development
customer usage and attitudes
product testing
advertising or promotion recall
consumer brain-storming and concept development
optimum price assessments
non-customer acquisition research
consumer diaries
retail audits
tracking studies
brand/company image research
government or political research
advertising and publishing research
brand equity tracking, brand equity
employee satisfaction and commitment
shopping behaviour
media usage
Data Analysis : -

My findings :-
Summary listings of findings
Lack of employment orientation.
Decline of demand for long-term NCVT courses in basic trades.
Diminishing role of the private training sector.
Insufficient role of private ITC in skills training for the unorganized
economy.
Low private returns to investment in training.
Insufficient internal efficiency of ITC.
Low operational flexibility, funding.
Lack of accountability.
Lack of focus on skills training for the unorganized economy.
Absence of industry participation.
Conclusion : -
The growing and uncontrolled enrolments in private ITCs may increasingly cause
serious distortions to the supply-demand ratios of the skilled workforce as proprietary
institutes pursue their own objectives and are less concerned with the labour market
situation.
To conclude with it was a nice experience in IMRB. I really came to know what it
takes to create and maintain an organization and its customers to give them a
satisfaction. Moreover all the staff of the organization provided me with the relevant
information which made a good learning experience.

Assessment of private training providers (ITCs) in 5 states of India(Target Respondent: Instructor)
INTRODUCTION: “My name is … … I’m working for Social and Rural Research Institute of IMRB International, a leading research organization. We are currently carrying out a study on private training providers (ITCs) on behalf of The World Bank. The primary objective of this study is to provide operational & administrative information about the Institute. In this regard, I seek information regarding the teaching methodology you follow, the challenges you face in your day to day activities, your opinions and suggestions on various aspects of this ITC. The information taken from you would be collated at the city level and your name/institute name would not be pictured anywhere in context of this study.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND CONSENT — your answers are completely confidential. You do not have to answer any questions that you do not want to answer and you may end this interview at any time you want to. However, your honest answer to these questions will help us better understand what you think, say and do. We would greatly appreciate your help in responding to this survey. The interview will take about 15 minutes. Would you be willing to participate?
