Our task

A group of P5 prefects carried out an investigation during Term 4 Week 2. We went around the school to find out how everyone felt about animal abuse:.........

Dog Abuse

53 cases of dogs abuse were reported this year in January. • 32 cases of dogs were kept in poor living conditions. • 5 cases of dogs tied up. • 4 cases of dogs being physically abused. • 3 cases of dogs allegedly abandoned. • 2 cases of dogs caged • 2 cases of dogs left sick and untreated • 2 cases of dogs found killed/dead • 2 cases of dog barking • 1 case of dogs being trapped

HOW much timedid we put in???

• 1 afternoon at Telok Kutau Primary • Install CCTV around the neighborhood. • If you see any abusing happening, do not

hesitate to call the police. • We could suggest laws against animal

abuse. • Petition against animal abuse. • Create workshops at the community centers

about stopping animal abuse. • Create lesson at the community centers to

teach owners of animals how to take good care for their animals.

Introduction

•Many animals are abused by people all over the world.

•This is called Animal Abuse.

•We want to tell you more about animal abuse…….

WHY do people abuse animals??? • The owners of the animals think that

the animal is a nuisance and they start to torture the animal.

• Some people torture little animals like dogs and cats when they see them on the road side or the lobbies downstairs the HDBs.

Dog Abuse

• 2 cases of cats found killed/dead.

• 2 cases of cats caged.

• 1 case of cats allegedly abandoned

• 1 case of cats left sick and untreated.

Rabbit abuse

• 10 cases of rabbits kept in poor living conditions.

HOW do we stop these people from abusing the animals??? • Create a neighborhood watch group to keep

a look out for people who abuse animals. • Install CCTV around the neighborhood. • If you see any abusing happening, do not

• We are going to put posters around the school to tell the pupils in the school to stop abusing animals.

• We are also going to put posters at the community center to tell the residents to stop abusing animals.

Think of the pain these animals go through. No one deserves to be abused, these animals need just as much respect as anyone else. Nothing Deserves to be Abused!!!

Let’s play our part well to stop animal abuse!
