SIMPLY SOUTH AFRICA
Day 1
Upon arrival at the Cape Town International Airport you will be met by an Out and
About Africa representative to hand over your information folder, and answer any
questions you might have.
Arrive and check-in at your accommodation at the V&A Waterfront.
The V&A forms part of the Cape Town Big 7, one destination comprising of 7 memorable
experiences. Other partners of the Cape Town Big 7 include Cape Point, Groot
Constantia, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Robben Island, Table Mountain
Cableway and City Walk.
Enjoy an afternoon 90min Sunset Champagne Cruise (weather dependent)
Toast the end of another perfect day in paradise with a complimentary glass of
champagne as you watch the sun slowly disappear beyond the horizon; a scene so
typical of the Cape.
Dinner is at leisure. There are a number of restaurants to choose at the Waterfront.
Day 2
Embark on a half day city and Table Mountain Tour with your guide.
City tour visits includes:
• A tour of the Malay Quarter and City centre
• Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden
• Greenmarket Square
• The flower sellers
• Castle of Good Hope.
Table Mountain: The best views of Cape Town are from the Table Mountain Cableway, a
unique and 87-year- old method of seeing the wonders of the city. Travel up to the
summit of the majestic flat-topped mountain and be astounded by vistas of the Mother
City, Robben Island and the Peninsula.
You will be collected and dropped off at your accommodation.
Lunch & Dinner is at leisure.
Day 3
Meet your Guide and embark on a Full day Cape Peninsula Tour.
The best Scenic day tour in South Africa hugs, the coast, pass the most prestigious beaches of Cape Town. At Hout Bay, shop
at the market and go by boat to see the seal colony. Drive over one of the most scenic routes in SA, Chapman’s Peak Drive.
This road hugs the rocky coastline 100 meters above the unpredictable Atlantic. Eventually reaching Cape Point and the nature
reserve, with breath-taking views of the Cape of Good Hope. Followed by a visit to the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach near
Simons Town.
Enjoy an afternoon Wine tasting at Groot Constantia before return back.
Dinner is at leisure. There are a number of restaurants to choose at the Waterfront.
Day 4
Today you have an included Robben Island Tour. Take a leisurely stroll to the check-in point no later than 30minutes before
departure.
Robben Island is a World Heritage Site and museum, offering daily tours. The tour begins at the Nelson Mandela Gateway at
the V&A Waterfront with a multimedia exhibition, museum shop and restaurant, after which, guests hop onto the ferry for a
scenic trip to the island. Once on Robben Island itself, the tour is guided by a former political prisoner of the island, for unique
and incomparable insights into the island’s history.

Day 5
One way transfer to Cape Town International Airport.

EXTENSION – GARDEN ROUTE Day 5
In the morning your rental vehicle will be dropped off at your accommodation.
Enjoy a beautiful scenic drive to Hermanus, and an included Whale Cruise
(seasonal).
Hermanus
Greater Hermanus is situated only 90 minutes drive from Cape Town on the southern
coast of the Western Cape along the Cape Whale Coast Route. The seaside village
of Hermanus, promises to enchant visitors all year round.
Afternoon boat based Whale watching Cruise (1-3hours) June to Dec - Experience an
up close and personal encounter with the 'gentle giants' of the ocean that promises to
be an 'experience to be treasured'.
OR (outside whale season)
Summer Whale and Dolphin Trips (2 hours) December to March
During the tour the friendly crew is on hand to make sure a great experience is had,
from helping get the perfect photo opportunity, to serving complimentary light
refreshments.
The guide, will interpret the marine life encountered en-route and provide insight
while the action is taking place, and the videographer will ensure the best footage is
captured.
Day 06
Breakfast is served at the Guesthouse. Continue your journey towards the Garden
Route, enroute visit Cape Agulhas (the southern tip of Africa) (optional)
Arrive and overnight in Mossel Bay.
We have more than 60 kilometres of beaches – and warm, beach-going weather
throughout the year (with at least 300 days of sunshine in every 365!)

EXTENSION – GARDEN ROUTE Day 7
Breakfast is served at your Hotel.
In the morning embark on a half day Beach Walk (part of the famous Oystercatcher
Trail) with a local guide. (Meeting point – Boggoms Bay) with an informal lunch on the
beach.
Walk along the beach and rocky shore to Fransmanshoek - a small nature reserve
with abundant bird life and beautiful veld flowers (where La Fortune was wrecked in
1763 en route from Mauritius to France: Fransmanshoek means ‘French Corner’).
Enjoy a beach lunch, and snorkeling and swimming in the secluded bay.
Optional – after your beach walk you can take part in a 90minute Point of Human
Origin Tour (Meeting point – Pinnacle Point)
Mitochondrial DNA research has shown that all humans alive today descend from a
small population that lived between 150,000 and 200,000 years ago. Archaeological
research has shown that at least some of those people lived in Mossel Bay...
Allow us to introduce you to Pinnacle Point - the place that’s revealed the earliest
evidence for modern human behaviour.
Optional – Diaz Museum or explore Mossel Bay on your own pace.

Day 8
Breakfast is served at your Hotel.
Check-out and leisurely drive along the Garden Route. Spend the next two nights in
Knysna.
This day is at leisure. You can explore the Knysna Waterfront, walk in the indigenous
Knysna Forest or simply relax at your accommodation.
Day 9
Today you have an included Featherbed Eco Experience.
The Featherbed Nature Reserve, situated on the Western Head in Knysna, is the
premier eco-experience on the Garden Route.
• Return ferry trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Western Head.
• 4x4 vehicle & trailer drive up the headland onto the Reserve, stopping at
spectacular viewpoints.
• Specialist guide giving information on history, fauna & flora.
• Optional guided 2.2km walk through coastal forest and fynbos into ancient sea
caves.
• World renowned buffet lunch at an outdoor restaurant setting under a canopy of
Milkwood trees.
• Wonderful family outing, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

Day 11
After breakfast and check-out depart to Oudtshoorn. Spend the next two nights at
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge.
The towns of Oudtshoorn and De Rust are in the Klein Karoo between the Swartberg
and Outeniqua mountains. Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world. The world's
biggest bird is just one of the many attractions in this area of exceptional contrasts
and natural beauty.
The region is home to the spectacular Cango Caves, Africa's largest show cave
system; an ecological hotspot where three distinct plant biomes (succulent Karoo,
cape thicket and fynbos) converge; and the Swartberg mountain range, which is part
of the Cape Floral World Heritage Site.
You have an included Guided Ostrich Tour and 1 Hour standard Cango Caves Tour.

Day 12
Breakfast is served at the Lodge.
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge
Just off the famous Route 62, part of the South African Garden Route & Klein Karoo,
Buffelsdrift Game Lodge offers you an escape to something spectacular. Experience an
array of wildlife including Elephants, Rhino, Cape Buffalo, Giraffe, Hippo and over 200 bird
species. We also offer African Bush Safaris, Meerkat Safaris, Elephant Feeding, Walking &
Brushing Experiences.
Today you have 1 included activity (Choose one of the following):
Bush Safari
During our bush safaris ( game drives ), you can expect to experience true Karoo vegetation from our open game viewing vehicles. Our
wide range of animals include Hippo, Elephant, Giraffe, Eland, Zebra, Buffalo, Rhino, Springbok and much more. The duration of our
bush safaris is ± 2 hours. About midway through the safari, there is a refreshment break at one of our scenic lookout points. These offer
360° panoramic views of the area as well as the Swartberg Mountains.

Elephant Feeding
While feeding our elephants you will experience them (Jabari, Malaika and Bulelo) up close and personal. You will find they may be
huge, but are gentle as can be. You may feed them, touch them and take photos with them while our skilled elephant guides share their
knowledge of these gentle giants with you. Afterwards they will even reward you with an elephant hug as a special goodbye.

Today your journey has come to an end. Depart to George Airport for your
connecting flight back home or drive back to Cape Town International Airport for your
flight.

Day 14
Depart back to Cape Town International Airport for your flight to Hoedspruit/Nelspruit Airport. (not included)
Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your accommodation in Hazyview or similar. Rest of the day is at leisure.
Optional – Afternoon Game Drive in Kruger National Park in open 4x4 Game Drive Vehicle.

Day 15
Breakfast is served. Embark on your full day Panorama Route Tour including lunch
at Harries Pancakes, you will be collected and dropped off at your Lodge.
When you’re exploring a country there are few things better than stopping your car at
a viewpoint and being rewarded with the kind of scenery that brightens your day and
broadens your horizons. On the Panorama Route in Mpumalanga, every viewpoint
gives you that opportunity.
Did you know?
The Blyde River Canyon's lush subtropical foliage makes it the world's largest 'green
canyon'. Breathtaking views, plunging waterfalls, eagles flying above you and a rich
history, quite literally, as it includes the gold rush years, are the kinds of things you
better get used to when you visit the Panorama Route.
‘Guarded’ by the small town of Graskop, this famous route is home to mountains,
forests and canyons, most notably, the Blyde River Canyon which is also world’s
largest ‘green canyon’.
The awe-inspiring Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls and Mac Mac Falls are just a short drive
away. As are scenic landmarks such as Wonder View, the Pinnacle, Bourke's Luck
Potholes, the Three Rondavels and God’s Widndow, where you can walk in the thick,
indigenous mist forest that stands amongst the clouds some 800m above Blyde River
Canyon.

Day 16 & 17
Leisurely Breakfast and check-out. You will be collected an transferred to your next
accommodation. Enjoy two nights at a Private Game Reserve.
Overnight includes:
• All meals, teas, coffees and snacks.
• Accommodation.
• Dawn and dusk safaris in open Land Rovers.
• Drinks on dusk safaris are limited to one per person with a choice of local beer, wine or
soft drink.

Activities & Facilities
Traversing over the 9000 hectares of supreme African bushveld, Shiduli Private Game
Lodge is home to the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and Elephant) as well as a
wealth of other creatures. Our open vehicle game drives are perfect for game viewing.
Enjoy a sundowner while the sun sets over the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains.
The magnificent game viewing makes for perfect photographic opportunities; enjoy the
view of the Lowveld from a “kopje” amid the lush vegetation, huge variety of trees and
over 365 different bird species. Game drives are conducted with our qualified game
rangers and Shangaan trackers – who will share their vast experience of the African Bush
and a chance to view Cheetah on foot.

Day 18
Early morning Safari is followed by breakfast and check-out. One way transfer back to
Nelspruit / Hoedspruit Airport for your connecting flight back home.
