Duties § Scan, repair and re-create modern-looking photographic backgrounds for 5000 historic racehorse photographs dating
back as far as 1920.
§ Research and implement numerous cross-platform solutions to incorporate a Mac DTP workflow into a predominantly Windows environment where the database was held.

Duties: IT Support • Maintain Macintosh systems. Install Software. Install/replace/repair hard disks, CD-ROM drives, processor daughtercards. • Download latest Software and driver versions. • Archive all work onto CD-ROMs.
Duties: Operator • From data supplied, prepare text and artwork for proofing on laser or 3M Rainbow dye sub, or output to film.
Specifically: • Lay up hand-drawn documents, reformat text and prepare client’s files for output.
Retouch and composite scanned images. • Scan reflectives and trannies on ScanView drum scanner. • Plan and set up page impositions in Adobe Presswise and Farrukh Imposition Publisher. • Used the earliest version Adobe Acrobat and Enfocus Pitstop to achieve colour separations from non-prepress
applications such as Microsoft Word or Powerpoint. • Montage separations for output to film.
Duties: Typesetter • Typeset and design corporate stationery.
Duties: Trainer • Prepare a synopsis of the training schedule for top management. • Prepare course notes pertaining to the operations in the digital prepress department. • Train and evaluate all platemakers in all aspects of DTP and digital prepress.
Reason for leaving No longer wished to do shift work.
