At Allied Glass we explore ways to offer complex yet viable decoration, one of the latest innovations being Sculptured Print.

An advanced technique which is in equal parts art and craftsmanship, it creates sophisticated decoration through the combination of visual and tactile effects.

SILK SCREEN PRINTING

With a wide range of colours available, the screen-printing process uses organic, thermoplastic and enamel inks that can accurately reproduce complex graphics.

Screen printing can be combined with other decoration methods to create highly distinctive designs.

CHAPEL DOWN

Chapel Down’s range of spirits were created by bringing together wine making expertise and modern distillation techniques. Produced by distilled grape skins from a single vintage each year, the spirits were developed to

reflect the delicate flavour profile of the wine varietal.

As for the packaging, the vision was to create a bottle that told the unique story of the Chapel Down spirits and the masterful crafting that goes into each.

An elegant and custom-made extra white flint glass bottle, the bespoke design links back to the two production processes; distillation and winemaking. Therefore, the bottom half of the bottle reflects a beautiful cut glass decanter, married together with a frosted top half of the bottle, pale green for gin and pale blue for vodka, denoting the classic shape of a wine bottle.

The bottle is both sprayed using an organic etch spray and then intricately printed, this combination of decoration techniques creating a classic and premium look for Chapel Down.

UNIQUE ARTWORK FOR THE DEAD

RABBIT IRISH WHISKEY

The Dead Rabbit Irish Whiskey is a super-premium Irish Whiskey that aims to capture all the edge and attitude of the legendary Irish emigrant Dead

Rabbit NYC Gang and the award-winning Irish bar of the same name, located in downtown Manhattan, New York City.

It is a five-year old blend featuring Irish malt and grain whiskey, finished in virgin American oak for 5 years and crafted by Master Distiller, Darryl McNally, together with Jack McGarry and Sean Muldoon, the founders of the award-winning New York bar, The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog.

The bottle’s distinctive design elements include three seals; the first of which is the iconic upside-down dead rabbit. This embellishment requires great precision to be fixed and so is applied manually, creating a striking image in an area of the bottle which would otherwise be impossible to decorate using screen printing.

FOLKLORE GIN

The beauty of glass and capability of decoration inspires Allied to create some of the most innovative and creative glass packaging, one stunning example being the beautiful Folklore Gin bottle.

The canvas for the printing is the beautiful Titus stock bottle made by Allied in premium flint. It is then printed on a Kammann K15 CNCM 16; a state-of-the art printing machine which has the capability to run up to 250 bottles per minute and enables six colours to be precisely printed directly onto the glass.

For the Folklore bottle, Thermoplastic inks are used that dry instantly so many colours can be laid on top of each other without smudging, ensuring the sharpness and brilliance of the decoration.

The artwork for the Folklore design was inspired by The Legend of Todmorden Moor, telling the story of Lady Sybil and her search for love, witchcraft and Hallows Eve.
