Being founded in the 15th century by Guru Nanak makes

Sikhism the youngest of any world religion. They believe “we are all one, created by the one.” The

religion of Sikhism was created during a time of turmoil in

India, where it was separated by castes, sectarianism,

religious factions, and fanaticism.

Guru Nanak aligned with no religion and respected

all religions in the creation of his own. He expressed

the reality that there is one God and many paths to

get to god, and the Name of God is Truth. Each and every one of the first ten Gurus contributed to the creation of Sikhism by

bringing in new ideas and adding it to the Sikh curriculum.

Nam Japa - To get up each day before sunrise, clean the body, meditate in God’s Name and recite the Guru’s

hymns to clean the mind. Throughout the day, continuously remember God’s Name with every breath.

Dharam di Kirat Karni - To work and earn by the sweat of the brow, to live a family way of life, and practice

truthfulness and honesty in all things you do.

Vand Ke Chakna - To share the fruits of one’s labor with others before considering oneself. To live as an inspiration

and a supporter to the entire community.
