Usinghygrometers,severalmoisturetestswereundertakentoestablishthemoisturecontentofthesub-floorandwhetheradampproofmembranewouldberequired.

Beingaworkingconstructionwithmanydifferenttradesonsite,testinghadtobeundertakenovera4weekperiodwhenroomsandcorridorswherefloorsweretobelaid,werereleased.

Thereadingswerebetween76%RH&88%RHsoSchönox®SDGDPMwasadvisedfordampproofingtheentire

sub-floor.Schönox®SDGisarapiddryingliquidDPMwhichcanbeusedupto90%RHafterapplying2coats.Itrequiresnoadditionalprimerbeforescreeding,andsowasidealforthisproject,asReesFlooringwasthenabletodamp-proofandscreedallonthesameday.

BeforetheDPMwasinstalleditwasdecidedwithhelpfromtheSchönox®technicalteam,totackletheconstructionjointswithapolyurethane(PU)adhesivesystem:Schönox®PU900.Thisallowedforaquicksolutionwhentimeiscritical,asisoftenthecaseonsuchinstallations.Schönox®PU900adhesivewaspouredintothejointsand

spread2incheseitherside,usingawiremeshforreinforcement.Schönox®SHPprimerwasthenusedontoptoallowagoodadhesionforthelatexlevellingcompoundtobeused.

Asthesubflooronthefirstfloorwasveryuneven,givingawavelikeeffect,aneffectivelevellingcompoundlaiduptoatleast8mmwasrequired.

Schönox®LCwasidealasitcanbeusedupto20mmwithoutbulkingout.

Schönox®LClevellingcompoundwasusedatbetween8-10mmonthefirstfloor,andonthegroundfloorat5mm.

Finally,Schönox®Emiclassicadhesivewasusedtobondallsafetyvinylsheets.
