SignBarSignBar is structurally engineered aluminummessage panels that are available in four differentheights and in any length up to a recommendedmaximum of 72”.

For double post mount configurations, non-corrosive spring tension pins are inserted intoprecision-drilled holes at each end of top andbottom bars. SignBars slide into posts and pinsengage into integral post slots. Once signinstallation is complete, future SignBars do notrequire pins.

For wall mount configurations, bars simply slideinto the affixed wall channel profiles. Springtension pins are not required.

IMPORTANT: SignBar is not used in single post,projection or ceiling mount configurations.

All SignBars can be used in conjunction withSignPanel, SignPanel Universal and/or virtuallyany other component being mounted between2” and 4” posts and/or wall channel profiles.

SPPVC6 & SPA6 SignPanelThe SPPVC6 SignPanel is 6mm Acrylite SG(polycarbonate) sheet. The SPA6 SignPanel is1/4” (6mm) aluminum. Each is mechanicallyattached to an aluminum SPRF Reduction Fillerprofile which slides into support post(s) orSPFM50 bracket profile.

For single post and projection mountconfigurations, non-corrosive set screwsstabilize the panel assembly on both sides ofthe supporting profile.

For double post and ceiling mountconfigurations, panel assembly simply slidesinto the post pocket.

When SPPVC6 or SPA6 is only supportedalong one edge, such as single post, projectionand ceiling mount configurations, the exposedsign panel edges can include radius corners.Consult APCO for details.

SPA25 SignPanelA unique aluminum outer frame is clad on frontand back with .060” (1.5mm) aluminum facesto create a 1” (25mm) thick sign panel.

For single post, ceiling and projection mountconfigurations, the SPA25 SignPanel isfabricated with a custom aluminum profilealong the mounting side which engages intothe post or SPFM50 profile. Once assembled,single post and projection mount SignPanelsare stabilized via non-corrosive set screws thruthe face of the supporting profile.

Post Mount Wall Mount

Designed for interior or exterior applications,SignPanel Universal is a changeable graphicscartridge which allows graphics to be displayedon one or two sides.

For double post mount configurations,SignPanel Universal width is designed so thatgraphic insert width matches visible width ofadjacent SignBars and/or SignPanels.

For wall mount configurations, graphic insertwidth is 1” narrower than adjacent SignBarsand/or SignPanels.

Clear 1/4” thick acrylic covers are bonded totwo identical frames. The frame’s innerworkings are concealed with opaque borderson the inside of each sign face. Removable‘locking bars’ slide over the frame’s dove tailprofiles, joining the left, right and bottom ofboth frames. Graphics are inserted from thetop. Radius aluminum trim assemblies capturethe panel at top and bottom, weatherizing thepanel and providing a finished appearance.

Graphic InsertsFor exterior applications, APCO recommendsgraphic inserts be printed with UV (ultraviolet)stable ink on vinyl. Paper inserts are for interiorapplications only. Graphic inserts can beprovided by APCO or by others.

A standard 3/8” thick, internal backer isprovided for graphic display inserts up to 3/32”thick per side.

IMPORTANT: Total thickness of all insertscannot exceed 1/2”.

Mounting ConfigurationsWhen post mounted, the top and bottomradius aluminum trim assemblies include plasticPost Links (ears) at each corner that align andslide into 2” or 4” post pockets.

When wall mounted, Post Links are omittedand panel slides into wall channel profiles.

IMPORTANT: SignPanel Universal is notdesigned for single post, projection or ceilingmount applications.

SignPanel Universal SizesSignPanel Universal can be constructed to fitvirtually any size graphic insert up to 4 ft. x 4 ft.

”Waterproof”Moisture will most always form behind a coverdue to temperature differences between thecover's front surface and the graphic insert.Once temperatures balance out, accumulatedmoisture in the air will evaporate, often leavingstreaks or clouding the backside of the cover.This is unavoidable in most all exteriorenvironments. A "waterproof" housing isunfeasible as it must be either an unserviceable,vacuum sealed unit or be equipped with an airconditioning source that will dehumidify thesign's interior and maintain an even temperaturebetween the sign's interior and exterior.

SignLiteThe optional downlight feature for SignBar andSPA25 (1” thick) SignPanel is available in singleor double sided configurations. Assemblyconsists of a radius aluminum housingmounted to an SB150 aluminum SignBar.Included is fluorescent lighting, removablediffuser panel, and a single designated electricalreceptacle concealed within the mating 4”support post.

The SPFM50 can be mechanically fastened toa flat surface or to a pole as small as 3” indiameter. If drilling into a pole is undesirable orunsafe (i.e. utility pole with internal wiring), slotscan be cut into the SPFM50 bracket to acceptstainless steel banding straps. Mounting TechniqueThe aluminum SPFM50 support bracket isextruded from 6063-T6 alloy and is suppliedwith non-corrosive screws to retain 3/16” thickaluminum caps at top and bottom.

The SPFM50 can be mechanically fastened toa flat surface or to a pole as small as 3” indiameter. If drilling into a pole is undesirable orunsafe (i.e. utility pole with internal wiring), theSPFM50 bracket is fabricated with slots toaccept stainless steel banding straps. Hanging brackets will be supplied with non-corrosive screws to retain 3/16” thick aluminumcaps at each end and 1/16” diameter stainlesssteel wire rope (360 lb. capacity) protruding thruthe top at a minimum of two locations.

IMPORTANT: Because mounting surfaces vary,cable attachment hardware and mountingtechnique is the responsibility of the installer.
