The Rosary Apostolate in the Schools is seeking volunteers who have great devotion to the Mother of God and who are willing to visit our elementary schools to pray the Rosary with the children once a month for a total of 8 days in the year. ST. JEROME’S R.C.I.A. PROCESS R.C.I.A - The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process for adults seeking a personal relationship with Christ and membership in the Catholic Church. It is a journey of faith in preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation. We also prepare baptized Catholics who have not received First Communion and
Confirmation for these Sacraments. If you know of anyone inquiring about the Catholic faith, please call the parish office at 905-455-4260 or speak directly with Fr. Jan.
As we continue to celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Archdiocese of Toronto, we have upcoming events and celebrations:
Archdiocesan Pilgrimage to Martyrs’ Shrine – Saturday, September 9th
Regional Celebrations: Merciful Redeemer – Sept. 12th, 7:00 p.m. St. Mary’s (Barrie) – Sept. 21st, 7:00 p.m. St. Isaac Jogues - Oct. 4th, 7:00 p.m. Blessed Trinity – Oct. 19th, 7:00 p.m.
Pilgrimage Churches: The original 14 churches of the archdiocese are pleased to welcome parish groups throughout the summer months and fall if you wish to trace the historical roots of the first faith communities of the Archdiocese of Toronto. A full list of the pilgrimage churches, with addresses, maps and Mass times can be found at www.archtoronto.org/175

GOOD SHEPHERD MINISTRIES PROVIDE-A-MEAL PROGRAM
Thank you to all the parishioners that provided a meal to the Good Shepherd Centre. We donated 35 casseroles this month. The next pick up date is Friday, September 8th Please remember to drop off your casseroles before 10:00 a.m. and place it in the freezer in the Social Hall.
CHARITY SUNDAY FOOD DRIVE
Thank you to all parishioners who donated to our monthly Charity Sunday Food Drive this weekend. Your donations offer assistance to needy families with our parish boundaries and community. The next food drive date is September 23rd & 24th.

Moms of all ages are invited to join our Tuesday morning Moms Group at St. Jerome’s Parish. The group meets once a week in fellowship to support each other, learn more about our faith and become instruments of love in our families and community. Babysitting is available. PASTORAL REFERENCES
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board requires all teacher applicants to submit a pastoral reference when applying for a teaching position. It is the responsibility of the candidate to attend Sunday liturgy, be involved in parish life and contact the parish priest well in advance. Teacher candidates who are attending school out of the local area are also responsible to give the parish priest advance notice. The parish priest cannot complete the form if he does not know the applicant on a personal level.
Updating a pastoral reference is not just a matter of changing the date on the form. The candidate must continue to practice their faith and be an active member of the parish.

God of wisdom and might, we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit.
Be with our children as they begin a new school year. Bless them and their teachers and staff.
Give the strength and grace as their bodies grow; Wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for
understanding and peace and zeal to their hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
