Dear Fellow Members and “Friends of the Sierra Nevada CRS Chapter”,

First I would like to thank everyone for all the support and well wishes that I have received during my cancer fight. I’m officially done with treatments and should be cancer free – yippee! I’m excited that the Chapter agreed to support the Susan G. Komen organization for our Chapter of the Heart fundraising this year. In July, we had a fabulous networking event in Carson City that raised money for Passionately Pink for the Cure (Susan G. Komen) and educated our members on Microsoft Outlook and Solar Technology. On October 2nd we are attempting to get a group together to walk or run at the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, it would be my honor if you would join our team – please call me if you would like to join us. I’m really excited about our upcoming Passionately Pink For the Cure Fashion Show on December 2nd. The fashions will be coming from The Summit Mall! I’m thrilled your Chapter officers have agreed to serve another year. Although we have accomplished most of our goals thus far, a second term will give us the opportunity to improve on the new systems we have implemented thus making it easier for future leadership to take over the Chapter. It is my pleasure to an-nounce that Sandy Soli from Intero Real Estate at Incline Village has agreed to be our Lake Tahoe South District Representative. I am currently looking for members who would like to serve on committees, help grow our Chapter, bring exciting educational and networking opportunities to the members so we can maximize our professional performance to serve our clients with excellence. The best part of leadership is we have fun planning and attending events and of course meeting agents from all over the country not only improves your referral network but gives you opportunities to learn from top real estate professionals. I hope you decide to get involved – plan to attend the Strategic Planning Meeting on Oct 18th.

I hope you have signed up for Chris Bird’s “Wealth Building Class” on Sept 13 & 14th He is a phenomenal high energy speaker who will teach us to identify the right opportunities in a down market or an up market, compare real estate with other investments and create additional wealth – for yourself and your clients. He will teach us about investments, rate of return and retirement planning.

I look forward to seeing you at our exciting events and serving you for another year.

Donna Clark, CRS2011 Sierra Nevada CRS Chapter President

Hello, Sierra Nevada CRS Chapter! Here we are in August--it’s cookin’ hot where I am, so I wish I was where you are! Kids are getting ready for school, and CRS is looking forward to welcoming our 2012 Presidents to the Leader-

ship Training in Phoenix at the end of the month! Donna has done a fabulous job as 2011 President and will carry that momentum right into 2012! It has been such a privilege to work with Donna, Cyndy, and all the leadership team for Sierra Nevada and I’m looking forward to doing it again next year!

I hope that many of you have made plans to at-tend the NAR/CRS National meetings in Anaheim in November! There will be lots to learn, people to meet, and referrals to exchange! It’s close to home for you this year, so I look forward to seeing many of you there! Imagine getting to visit Disneyland as part of your business trip! And don’t forget about Sell-A-Bration coming up in January, 2012. It’s in Phoenix this year at the Grand Arizona resort--again, close to home! I promise you’ll come away from that with tons of new ideas and find out all about what’s new in technology, get new strategies for your busi-ness, and, again, meet lots of like-minded people who want to do business with you! Make plans to attend--put that on your holiday list! It’s a fantastic way to get your year off to a great start!

Sierra Nevada CRS Chapter is really rockin’! I’m proud to be your RVP and to celebrate and recog-nize all your success for 2011! I know your Pas-sionately Pink Fashion Show is going to be just great! Kudos to your leadership team, and to Donna for putting together a wonderful event and rais-ing money for your Chapter With a Heart project! Donna, you’re an inspiration to us all! Keep doing what you’re doing!

Here’s to you!

A Certified Residential Specialist is a REALTOR® whohas earned certification from the Council of Residential Specialists by completing a rigorous course of advanced training, and by meeting significant experience require-ments.

Less than 4% of all REALTORS® in the US can call them-selves Certified Residential Specialists (CRS). That’s because just one in 25 REALTORS® has the extensive experience, the unique commitment and the hours of advanced training necessary to call themselves a Certi-fied Residential Specialist.

4 Reasons to work with a CRs Designee:

1. Experience & EthicsTo earn the Certified Residential Specialist Designation every REALTOR® must have a significant mix of experi-ence and volume of real estate transactions. Every Certified Residential Specialist is required to maintain membership in the National Association of REALTORS® and to abide by its strict Code of Ethics.

2. A Focus on Home Buying and SellingTo help make your home buying and selling process more rewarding, every Certified Residential Specialist must have a proven track record in the business, as well as advanced education in related areas like finance, technology & marketing.

3. Technological ExpertiseThe training available to Certified Residential Specialists includes a strong focus on technology and its applica-tion in the real estate business.

4. An Ability to Maximize Profits and Minimize CostsEvery Certified Residential Specialist is trained to help you understand your local market, screen prospective buyers and sellers, negotiate in your best interest and, ultimately, help you enjoy a successful home purchaseor sale.

WORDS OF WISDOMw

lessons learned from Zig Ziglar’s “embrace the struggle” book:

• Focus on what you can do, not what you can’t do.

• It isn’t what happens to you, but how you respond to what happens to you that makes the difference.

• Where there is struggle, there is life. Accept life on life’s terms.

• The choice to have a great attitude is something nobody and no circumstances can ever take away from you.

• Complaining about a situation won’t change a thing, but embracing the struggle has a potential to change everything about the situation. You can either embrace the struggle

or let the problem become all consuming.

• A problem is something you can do something about. If you can’t do anything about it, it’s a fact of life, and so we accept facts; we solve problems.

• Look for a solution, instead of merely reacting, which also leads to complaining.

• The more you complain about the problems you have, the more problems you’ll have to complain about; and the more you express gratitude for what you have,

the more things you’ll have to express gratitude for.

• This wisdom can be applied to every aspect of your life whether you are dealing with a bad transac-tion or fighting the big “C”.
