The Best Remedy for Climate Change
Saturday, December 7 at 1 pm
Join us at the Library for a special climate change presentation.
Professor John Odell will explain the current climate emergency,
outline an action plan to remedy it, and much more. Members of
Citizens’ Climate Lobby will also be on hand to contribute to the
discussion.
Book Talk: A Path Called Tiffany
Saturday, December 7 at 3 pm
Join us as former Sierra Madre resident Charlotte Blackmon Collins
presents her new book, A Path Called Tiffany: A Memoir of Raising a
Special Child . The book tells the story of the author’s efforts to give
her daughter Tiffany, a special needs child and then adult, the fullest
and happiest life possible until Tiffany’s death at age 42 in 2014.
Much of the story takes place in familiar landmarks in Sierra Madre.
Homework Help
Every Tuesday & Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 pm
Our Homework Helpers will provide one-on-one time on a
variety of subjects for students in grades K-8. Homework
Helpers are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Buster Balloon

The Buster Balloon Show is a hilariously cartoony
blend of side-splitting comedy, mind-boggling
magic, loads of audience participation, and
amazing balloon-twisting.
Real Life Minecraft

It’s about to get real at the Library. We’ve got boxes for you
to build a Minecraft wonderland. From houses, to desks, and
more! Come to the Library and let’s see what you can build!
Gingerbread Build Day
Thursday, December 19 at 1:00 pm
Let’s start off the holidays with some
gingerbread! Build as elaborately or as simply as you want!
Decorate with a variety of candy. There will be a limited
amount of pre-built houses. No registration required. All
supplies will be provided but are first come, first served.

During our STEAM Open House,
learn about 3D printing and print
your very own item at a special-event discount price of
FREE! Size restrictions apply. Then learn about die-cutting
and its applications on the Cricut and create your projects
with confidence. Finally, need a break from the real world?
Our Virtual Reality stations will be geared up and ready to
take you worlds away!

November book is There, There by Tommy
Orange and in December we’ll discuss your favorite (or least

The City of Sierra Madre will be showing the holiday favorite “A CHRISTMAS
STORY” for its 2nd Annual Holiday Movie in the Park. Bring a picnic, chairs and
definitely dress warm as it gets chilly in the park even during the warmer
