STEEL CAGESSIDEFOR products are 3-dimensional steel cages for lateral steel concrete

reinforcement used for columns, beams and shear walls.

They are produced by SIDENOR using a fully automated industrial procedure

that secures the precise geometrical characteristics and guarantees the implementation

of the new improved Greek anti-seismic regulations.

SIDEFOR steel cages consist of continuous multi-stirrups meaning that the outer

and inner stirrups are manufactured as a single unit. Thus, a high level of confinement

is achieved resulting to a lower risk of main bars buckling.

With a wide variety of sections and diameters, SIDEFOR steel cages offer high

safety, reliability and manufacturing accuracy in lateral steel concrete reinforcement,

with the quality signature of the pioneer Greek Steel Producer, SIDENOR.

The electrodes produced by ERLIKON meetalmost every requirement regarding welding

applications. The electrodes are producedwith the know–how of the international

OERLIKON company. Their productionis certified with ISO 9002, the products

The company focuses on the recycling of by-products of the group's companies and operates two plants, one located in Thessaloniki and the second in Almyros. 200,000 tons of by-products are processed yearly in those facilities.

ETAL SA, a subsidiary of SIDENOR SA, produces and promotes in the Greek market steel fibers for concrete

reinforcement. INOMIX, the brand name of fibers produced by ETAL, operate

at the granular scale in the concrete matrix, preventing and controlling crack opening. The steel

fibers reinforced concrete therefore switches from brittle behavior to plastic behavior.

ETAL offers different sizes and dimension of fibers suitable for any kind of application, shotcrete, poured

and cast concrete, industrial floors and slabs on grade.

completed an important investment program, which includes, among others, the

� radioactivity control of raw materials and final products

� use of environmentally friendly fuels (i.e. natural gas)

� installation and operation of a dust filter system for steel mill off-gases

� operation of a cooling water treatment and recycling plant

� operation of a sewage waste biological treatment plant

the company and external parties

SIDENOR S.A. is the first Greek Steel Manufacturing Company to apply Environmental Management System certified by ÅLÏÔ

according to the ÅÍ ISO 14001:2004 standard.

In 2001, SIDENOR S.A. founded a subsidiary company,

AEIFOROS S.A., in order to recycle and utilize all the

by-products resulting from the production activities of the

Group's industries, thus contributing significantly

to the protection of the environment.

200,000 tons of by-prodtucs are processed yearly.

By its nature, the production process applied by SIDENOR S.A. (scrap

melting in Electric Arc Furnace) contributes to the gathering and recycling

of a waste material that would otherwise pollute the natural environment

in every aspect (health & safety, aesthetics, etc).

Environmental management in SIDENOR S.A. follows three basic principles,

regarding by-products and waste:

avoidance of production re-use rational disposal

The application of the above principles requires particularly large-scale

investments, both in the field of equipment and human resources. This can be

achieved only through significant changes in the use of raw materials,

technological progress, optimization of production processes and use of Best

Available Techniques (ÂÁÔs).
