EDUCATIONCalifornia State University Northridge May 2016Masters in Mechanical Engineering University of Mumbai, India May 2013Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCEVehicle Evaluator, Performance Driven Workforce (June 2016 – August 2016)

Evaluated Pre-production vehicle prototypes for their engine performance, gear shifts, powertrain system, NVH, wind noise, infotainment system and customer safety features installed.

Reported the data recorded through the Vehicle Data Recorder (VDR) installed in the vehicle to check for unusual response from the vehicle during ride.

Inspected the vehicle interior, body trim, seating positions and comfort, easy accessibility of installed features from customer perspective.

Design Engineer Intern, Unique Mixers and furnaces, India (April 2013 – March 2014) Developed part models for the process equipment using SolidWorks and performed Finite Element Analysis. Created Engineering drawings for the part models with respective dimension and maintained existing BOM on

manufactured products. Managed the inventory of raw materials required to carry out the production and also assisted in performing

Quality Assurance inspection.

SAE BAJA – SolidWorks Designer (July 2011 – April 2012) Conducted impact simulation and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on SolidWorks model of the vehicle. Evaluated the design of roll-cage, suspension and seating structure. Conducted Modal Analysis of roll-cage of the

vehicle to analyze fatigue. Gained hands-on Machine shop experience, prepared drawings for fabrication of vehicle components with

knowledge of DFM. Ensured proper documentation of components and maintained accurate BOM.

RELEVANT PROJECTSSolid Works Design Automation (Jan 2016 – May 2016)ME 630: Computer Aided Mechanical Design

Automated the process of performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other design operations on a SolidWorks assembly of a single cylinder engine, by using Excel VBA to write relevant SolidWorks APIs.

Integrated the SolidWorks assembly with MATLAB script and performed Stress Analysis on the assembly by running the script. Achieved an accuracy of 97% between MATLAB and Visual Basics results.

Optimized the model for Factor of Safety 9.6. Programmed the model to return analysis results in excel spreadsheet.

Airplane Door Analysis (Aug 2015 - Dec 2015)ME 531: Design with Composites

Performed Finite Element Analysis using NASTRAN on an airplane door model in SolidWorks. Implemented simulation technique for selection of material of the door and recommended the use of Graphite/Epoxy composite material over titanium and aluminum.

Design of Robot for Relief (Nov 2014 – May 2015)ASME Student Design Competition 2015

Designed and developed transporter robot components using SolidWorks and implemented Lean Manufacturing method for production. Delivered maximum payload with respect to constraint of power to weight ratio of robot.

Development of Alternative Energy Sources: Fuel Cells (Aug 2014 – Dec 2014)ME 496: Fuel Cell Technology

Performed a comparative study of Fuel Cell Plants in California and a state of the art system installed in California State University Northridge (1 Mega Watt) reducing CO2 emission by 60 million pounds in its lifetime.

Effect of Over Aging on Mechanical Properties of Aluminum 7075 (Aug 2014 – Dec 2014)MSE 527 L: Mechanical Behavior of Materials

Determined Al 7075 density at various stages of experiment and performed tensile test using Universal Testing Machine. Significant change in the Threshold value for the stress-strain curve was observed. Change was also observed in the granular structure and grain boundaries at microscopic level.

Design and Analysis of Leadscrew (Aug 2012 – May 2013)University of Mumbai, India

Designed leadscrew of screw jack on Pro-Engineer and analyzed on ANSYS Workbench for 3 ton capacity. Estimated service life and optimized critical diameter to 26mm for efficient, reliable and effective system.
