DEVELOPMENT OF ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND WORK HABITS

Students will develop a work plan using the Ontario Skills Passport developed by Human Resources and Social Development Canada. Students will clearly identify the Essential Skills that are needed for life, learning, and work, which are foundational for full participation in the workplace or community. Students build competence and confidence to make connections between school and prospective careers. They gain a deeper understanding of how Essential Skills are transferable from school to work, job to job, and sector to sector.

Using the Ontario Skills Passport, students will track their development of Essential Skills - literacy, numeracy, and thinking skills - and work habits as they make the transition from high school to their post-secondary destination.
