Annual Reports 2016-17

It’s my great pleasure to present the Annual Report of the Department of Physical Education and

Sports on behalf of our college. For last several years we have been forming the body of Students’

Sports Council along with Sports Council for smooth working. The Sports Council was

constituted under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble Principal Dr. B. B. Taywade. The other members

of the council were Mr. N. V. Chopde, Dr. M.S. Wankhede, Dr. V.Y Waghale, Dr. P. P. Sonone,

Dr. P. D. Hadke, Dr. R. N. Gosavi, Dr. Parag Joshi, Mr. S. S. Gaherwar, Dr. D. N. Khadse, Mr. R.

S. Motghare, Mr. D. R. Pathak, Dr. M. R. Tambulkar, Mr. S.M. Shambarkar, Dr. N. H.

Kandalkar, Mr. J .V. Jichkar, Mr. A.M. Zanzal, Mr. K. S. Lend, Mr. V. T. Choure, Dr. S. S.

Dadhe & Dr. Vandana Ingale. The meetings were held on September 15, 2016 & April 15, 2017

to discuss various matters related to the Sports activities during the academic session 2016-17 for

smooth functioning.

Shelke, president, SSES, in the presence of

Shri. Sunil Kedar, MLA, Shri. Nareshchandra

Thakre, Shrimati Kundatai Vijaykar, Mr.

Girish Vyas MLC, Shri Gajanan Pundkar, Shri

Krushna Firke and others. The total

construction cost of the stadium is Rs.

2,76,41652/- of this UGC paid Rs.70,00000/-,

Mr. Vilas Muttemwar donated Rs. 50,00000/- from

his MP fund and remainder was borne by the college management. We have four wooden

Badminton Courts, Table tennis hall, Spacious gym, Yoga hall and office in the Indoor Stadium.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED / ORGANISED:

a) Summer Coaching Camp: Softball, Basketball, Football & Sepaktakraw: Every year we

organize the summer coaching camp for

different games for the school & college

students to create among them awareness of

sports, developing the skill & advance

knowledge of games. This year the coaching

camp was held between April 15 to May 15,

2016, it was inaugurated by Dr. B.B. Taywade,

Dr. Awchar, Vice Principal of Shivaji Science

College was present on the occasion. Prof.

Devendra Wankhade conducted the programme

& Dr. Subhash Dadhe proposed a vote of thanks. The

expert coaches gave the advance coaching to the

students. We invited reputed coaches of respective games to train our students. Football

coaching was given under Mr. Ramesh Mandal, and Prof. Jayant Jichkar, Yoga under Prof.

Devendra Wankhade, Softball & Sepak-takrao under Dr. Subhash Dadhe, Mr. Chetan

Mahadik, Ajay Kanojiya & Mr. Sameer Khan. 90

students from various Schools & Colleges

participated & got benefitted from this camp.

The Summer Coaching Camp was concluded on

27th

June 2016. All the participants were given

certificates at the hands of Deputy Director of

Sports Mr. Subhash Rewatkar and Dr. B.B.

Taywade presided over the function.

b) International Yoga Day: As per HRD ministry, Govt. of India’s guidelines, our department

organised International Yoga day on 21

June 2016. All teaching and non teaching

staff & students performed in the morning,

Suryanamskar, Yogasana & Pranayama on

this occussion. National players Rahul

demonastrated the Asanas. Dr. B.B.

Taywade Principal gave best wishes for

performing Yogasana on the International

Yoga Day. Mr. Bhushan Takey instructed

the importance of the Yogabhyas.

c) Inter School Gymnastics Championship:

Shivaji Gymnastic Club, Dhanwate National

College organized Interschool Gymnastics

Competition on August 27-28, 2016 which was

inaugurated by Mr. Sunil Deshpande in the

presence of Mr. Sanket Vinchurkar & Dr. B.B.

Taywade presided over the function. It was

organized in consultation with and the consent

by Nagpur District Gymnastics Association.

e) Panjabrao Deshmukh Premier League cricket 2017:- PDIMTR organized Dr. Panjabrao

Deshmukh Premier League cricket on February 2 to 8, 2017 and we supported the activity

whole heartedly by giving the ground and technical support.

f) Yoga Workshop: On 14 January 2017

our department organised yoga

workshop for students & staff

members. The resourse persons Ku.

also stated the importance of Yoga in

our daily life, which would keep us

g) CONDUCTED DISTRICT SPORTS OFFICE TOURNAMENT:

1. Dodge-ball Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was

conducted on September 23-24, 2016. Tournament was inaugurated by Prin. B. B.

Taywade, President Nagpur District Dodge-Ball Association & other staff members were

present. Total 30 Boys & Girls teams of various Schools from Nagpur District participated

in it.

2. Netball Tournament: Nagpur District level DSO Dodge-ball U/19 tournament was

conducted October on 15-16, 2016. Total 30 Boys & Girls teams of various Schools from

Nagpur District participated in it.

h) Annual Sports Meet: On the 119th

Birth Anniversary of Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, the

founder of Shri. Shivaji Education Society, Amravati,

our department organized the Inter-class Volleyball,

Basketball, Yogasana and Athletics (100 mtr Running,

Long-Jump & Shot-put) competitions on December

25 & 26, 2016. Prize distribution took place on

December 27, 2016 at the hands of Mr. Amit Pawade

who was chief guest on this occasion.

i) Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test: As per University Ordinance every year

our Department conducts the Medical Examination & Physical Efficiency Test for the college

Students (under graduate). The medical examination was held on January 16-25, 2017, under

medical officer Dr. Avinash Gawande, Dr. Anil Chiwhane & Dr. Darshana Deshmukh.

this test were submitted to the R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur.

j) 1st Maharashtra State Sepaktakraw League Championship: The championship jointly

organized by Nagpur District Sepaktakraw Association & Dhanwate National College under

the banner of Maharashtra Sepaktakraw Association on April 14-15, 2017. The tournament

was inaugurated by Dr. B. B. Taywade,

Mr. Salim Beg presided the function. Dr.

Y. B. Pande conducted the function. 16

Boys and 6 girls team from various

district participated in the competition.

Prize distribution took place on 16th

April 2017 at the hands of Nandatai

Jichakar, the Mayor of the city. She stated the value of sports in her speech after garlanding

the portrait of Dr. Bhausaheb Deshmukh.

FACILITIES PROVIDED: We provide following facilities to students, staff and local people:

a) Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Badminton Academy:

was opened for the benefit of students at the hands

of Dr. Subash Rewatkar, deputy director Sports &

Youth on June 27, 2016. Dr B.B. Waywade, Mr.

Nikhil Rokde, Kiran Makode, Mr. Kashikar

secretary NDBA, parents, sports persons & students

were present. The academy runs the coaching on

regular basis between 4 to 9 pm. More than 100 students outside the college get benefit or our

coaching center. In the morning session Doctors, Engineers, Lawyers, CAs and other

professionals get the benefit of Badminton Court.

b) Modern Fitness Centre: For college students & Sports

Persons, college renovated the gymnasium and Modern

Fitness Centre. In this Centre new advance fitness

equipment like motorize trade mill, electronic cycle,

massager & other fitness equipment are available.

Monthly 125 students are benefitted by the Gym in

average. Monthly income is about Rs. 35000/-. For the

updating of fitness Center College received grant of Rs. 7

lakhs from DSO & purchased some new equipment. Due

to lack of space college Gym is to be shifted in Indoor Stadium

c) Ground Facilities: Basketball Court with Flood Light, Football, and Cricket ground with

Turf Wicket (Vasant Nagar), Volleyball, Korfball, Netball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho grounds etc.

d) Regular Coaching & training :

For the larger interests of the students of our college,

we organize various coaching and training programmes

and many students take part every year.

Gymnastics – We train students and other members of the

society throughout the year. Mr. Sanket Winchurkar & Mr.

Mayuresh Shrishikar National players coach the

beneficiaries. Regularly 20 to 25 gymnasts give the

training. Three gymnast of our coaching center are

participated in School State Tournament held at Pune 11 players are participated in State

Championship held at Thane in various age groups.

Chess: For regular coaching for students and players college started coaching center in

association with Nagpur District Chess Association. NDCA organized 16 various level

tournaments during the session.

Table tennis: For regular coaching for students and players college started coaching center in

association with Nagpur District Table tennis Association. Our college and Nagpur District Table

Tennis Association jointly organized summer league Table Tennis tournament on 30thApril 2017.

We provide training for various games equipment for the various games, Uniforms & Shoes,

concession for outstation tournament, refreshment and daily allowances during tournaments.

.University Blazer: College shared the cost of blazer for per player who is selected for the first

time in any game in the University team.

PARTICIPATION: College teams participated in University and other intercollegiate

tournaments:

a) Nagpur University Intercollegiate tournament: Total 23 Men & 9 Women College teams

participated in University tournament i.e. Athletics, Cross-Country, Netball, Softball, Baseball,

Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Judo, Korfball (Men and Women) Basketball, Badminton, Ball-Badminton,

Boxing, Cricket, Chess, Table Tennis, Volleyball, Taykando, Power-Lifting, Yogasana, and

Swimming in Men section.

b) Other Tournament: Our college teams participated in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida

Mahotsava 2016- Kabaddi, Volleyball (Men & Women), Basketball, Football, Badminton, Chess,

and Cricket (Men). Krik-Mania Cricket-2016, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College of Law Inter-

collegiate Cricket Tournament, Shivaji Olympiad 2016, PDCPL etc.

ACHIEVEMENTS: We put efforts to train our players at least one month before the respective

games & sports so that they may be well trained to win a name & fame for themselves as well as

for college. This is our pride privilege that Yogasana - Men team emerged championship in RTM

Nagpur University Tournaments. We won the Softball (Men) University championship, Dr.

Panjabrao Deshmukh Cricket Championship, Krick - Mania Cricket 2016 & Red-bull Campus

Cricket & Kho-Kho - men championship in Shivaji Olympiad, Runners up in University Netball-

Men, Korfball & Baseball Women etc.

4. Cricket Men: Our College team got the Championship in Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krida

5. Kho-Kho Men: Our Kho-Kho team got the championship in Shivaji Olympiad 2016

organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. The team members were Shubham M.

7. Korfball Men –Women: Our Korfball (Men-women) team secured runners up in R.T.M.

Nagpur University intercollegiate Korfball Tournament held at University ground. The team

members were Prajwal M. Channe, Lacky N. Choudhary, Vijay S. Mawskar, Roshan D. Nawghade,

Vinay V. Dongare, Nilesh j. Thaware, Mohseen Sheikh, Nilesh N. Sakharkar, Komal M. Hirawani,

Deepali P. Neware, Sneha S. Kharabe, Kajal B. Doifode, Monali D. Dhole, Kalyani S. Sarode, Aachal

R. Gajbhiye, Shruti T. Nagarale, Papiha N. Bhaisare, Karishma R. Kewat.

Our college Volleyball, Football, Badminton, Table-tennis, Ball-badminton, Kabaddi, Chess,

Wrestling, Power lifting, Boxing, Judo, Swimming, etc. teams participated in various tournaments

and performed very well. Some of the players were selected for Interuniversity, State & National

competitions.

JUNIOR COLLEGE: Our Junior college teams participated in the various inter-collegiate

tournaments organized by District Sports Office i.e. Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball,

Dodge ball, Softball, Badminton, Cricket, Baseball, teeny Quite, Football, Malkhamb, Wrestling,

Taykando, Fencing, Marshal Art and Athletics. In this tournament the following teams performed

very well.

1. Kho-Kho girls: Our Kho-Kho girls’ team got the DSO District level Championship & Shivaji

Olympiad 2016 organized by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati. The winner team

participated in divisional level tournament held at Bhandara and performed very well.

2. Tenny Quite: Our tenny Quite team got the District Championship organized by DSO Nagpur.

3. Athletics: Our team participated in DSO district level Athletics Tournament & performed very

well.

FELICITATION: On the Occasion of College teacher felicitation programme all the prize

winners in the sport activities for the session 2016-17, who represented the Inter University,

National, State, Ranji Competitions & secured positions in University Tournament were

felicitated and presented with the track-suits, mementoes & certificates on prize Distribution

ceremony held on April 18, 2017. On this occasion Prin. Dr. B. B. Taywade presided over the

function.

Under Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Sports Academy, Football, Basketball, Softball, Gymnastics,

Badminton, Chess, Table Tennis the coaching camp was inugurated on this occasion. The coaches

of various games Mr. Rama Rao, Ajay Kanojiya for football, Sanket Winchurkar, Mayuresh

Shrishikar – Gymnastics, Mr. Chetan Mahadik, Vivek Sahu – softball, Mr. Jayant Jichakar-

Basketball, the players & parents were present.
