Earth Day 2019 Poster Contest! Show us your Earth Day Spirit by submitting a poster that relates to this theme: Categori & Pr Categories: Grades 3 & 4, Grades 5 & 6, Grades 7 & 8 Prizes: Monster Clarity HD Bluetooth headphones General Contt Information • Contest is open to students in Grades 3-8, within the Saskatoon Public & Greater Catholic School Divisions only. Home-based education is included for Saskatoon residents within these school divisions. • All submissions MUST be received by Thursday, April 11th, 2019 by 4:00PM in order to qualify. Submissions are to be mailed or delivered in person to: Loraas Recycle – 1902 1ST Avenue North, Saskatoon SK, S7H 2A1. • It is preferred that participating classes or groups submit entries in an organized manner (ie: a single classroom/group package). • Contest begins March 25 th , 2019 and ends April 11 th , 2019. • A total of six winners, three from the SPSD and three from GCSD, will be announced on the Loraas social media accounts, @LoraasYXE, on April 16th from 9:00AM-3:00PM. Prizes will be delivered to the schools on April 17th or 18th once the school, teacher, or parent has been contacted. General Contt Guidelin • All entries must be the original artwork of the student and created by a single student only. Any submissions found to be copied from other sources or plagiarized will be disqualified. • All submissions MUST include the student’s information written legibly or typed on the back of the poster and must include: Student’s full name, teacher or parent name, grade, and school. • For home-based education submissions, please include full Saskatoon address, which school division your student is a member of, and a home phone number. • Maximum poster size is 11”x17” and must be hand-drawn. Acceptable mediums include: crayon, marker, pen, pencil, pencil crayon, paint, pastels, etc. Creativity is encouraged, however, please no digital media artwork, stickers, glitter, photo collage, or charcoal. Poster lamination is optional. • Winning entries will be displayed on the Loraas social media accounts and at our Loraas Recycle facility, “Wall of Fame,” for the remainder of the year. Judging Criteria • All entries will be judged based on three criteria: understanding of the theme, creativity, and concept. Once received, all entries will be judged at Loraas Recycle by the Environmental Communications Specialist. One poster will be chosen from each group or classroom submission. The selected posters will then be judged by a selection of Loraas employees, with one vote per poster per age range from each school division. Qutions?
