He woke up by the little strands of light falling on his eyes which brought

him back to reality, it was good to be back because in his reality was much

more interesting and exciting than a dream

~

Memories, occurred moments

ago, burnt in her mind. Words have

been said, emotions have flared, blood

has been shed. Blood dripping from his

hands, he stumbles across the

shattered glass in the once neat

bedroom. Footsteps creak inch by inch, coming closer and closer. Breathing

intensifying. Heart pumping. Blood Rushing. The brass doorknob screeches its

toll of doom as it slowly pivots in its place. An eagle perched up high on the

tree ready to take its prey. With the stinging breath of death on his neck, h e

tumbles into oblivion...The

battles between her father and

herself left Arianna with a burden

that would not alleviate.

Suffering and pain embodied

Ariannas hopeless relationship

with her father. Looking at the

length mirror in her room,

Arianna brushed the gold curls out of her eyes to reveal a bruise that would

tarnish her porcelain skin throughout day. The sixteen-year-olds mind raced

with the thoughts: I should have listened to him, its my fault, I get him this

way.

Coming back to reality IT

WAS TIME FOR SCHOOL, it was

already 8.30am and within 1hr he

should get to school. You may

think why should he need one

hour to get to school its just that

he need more than 30min in toilet,

Dont get the wrong idea that he

have some problem with his bowel

movements.. He like to sit in toilet and hear music. He have no other option if

he sit with the headsets in his ear then his dad is going to kill him. According

to his father morning was the best time to study but according to me it was the

best time to sleep. I told you my life was exciting and interesting.

His life is near to perfect. He think he

have all the things which a 17year old boy could

wish for! A son of reputed parents, one brother

with whom he would die to be together all the

time.. and a bunch of friends with whom he

would die laughing.. and above all that a dream

girl, one in a million.. to love.. to die for and for

whom its worth living.. You may think what is

going to happen this perfect little life. Anybody wouldnt know that anything

can happen to anyone , in any place and in any time or anywhere in this world

but one is surely we know only God can help us through whatever struggles we

have in our lives.

Outside of

Arrianas house,

piercing, browned

eyes watched the

events unfolding. He saw her, still motionless, staring blankly at her reflection.

Arianna began to sob uncontrollably, shaking, burying her head in her hands.

Running a hand through his messy brown hair, Christian pondered how he

would save his lady love. Looking back at his modest room, done in shades of

blue, he absently thought This would be a great place for us.

With a plan in mind, Christian bounded down stairs to his the kitchen to

find the help he needed. His father presented a strong, rugged look, he was tall

and well built, with a calm

demeanor and a compelling

poise. Alexander looked up

from the dinner he was

preparing and immediately

identified with the distressed

look in his sons eyes.

Concerned, Alexander asked, Whats wrong?

I think there is somethings going on with Arianna.

Alexander raised his eyebrows, How do you know that?

Christian hesitated, answering meekly, I just heard it from around.

Son, you shouldnt believe all the rumors that are floating around.

Frustrated, Christian yelled, but Dad, I saw it--, the boy stopped

himself too late.

Alexander stiffened, You saw it?

GOD DAMNIT, BOY! I TOLD YOU NOT TO LOOK THROUGH PEOPLES

WINDOWS!

Please Dad, you need to listen! Christianexclaimed, Yes, I was looking

through the window! But I think her dad is abusing her.

Alexanders expression softened,

Do you want me to do something about it? Look into it, maybe?

Christian gave out a sigh feeling more relaxes,

Yes, please dad...

A man with bulging veins fumbled through his pockets with large hands

to find his keys. He forgot to duck under the door frame and hit his scarred

face, being six feet tall. Hearing the loud slam from next door, Alexander rose

from his sofa and walked next door.

Garron? Are you okay? Alexander knocked.

After a moment of silence, Alexander

slowly pushed the door open. There were

crumbled pieces of paper, dirty clothes, and

beer cans and bottles everywhere on the

ground.Shocked, Alexander stormed in the

house to find Garron. Wearing a stained t-shirt,

Garron was slumped over on a beer covered

sofa.

Garron? Are you okay? Alexander asked exasperated, but concerned.

There was a delayed reaction, Hmm?... Oh,... um..ya, I'm...fine, slurred

Garron.

Are you sure? Cause I heard the door slam loudly and I thought I would

come over to see if you were okay.

Imfine! Really... thanks but theres nothing-- Garron puked.

Look at yourself! Your drunk and living in a slump! How doyou even

take care of Arianna?

Non mi dica cosa fare! Tu non sai cosa meglio per mia figlia!

This was worse than Alexander realized. Garron only spoke in his native

language when he was really drunk. Seeing no other answer, Alexander walked

over to wake him up by throwing water at his face.

Look at yourself! You cant provide for your daughter! Look at--

Alexander noticed that Garrons knuckles and palms were bruised. Alexander

gulped,Christian was right! YOU ARE ABUSING ARIANNA! GARRON, YOU

SONOFABITCH, HOW COULD

YOU?!

Garron trembled as he

stood up. He raised his hand

clenched as a fist. The fist

missed Alexander and shattered

the mirror behind him. Looking at his reflection, Garron picked up one of the

glass shards with his bloody hand...

Alexander ran back into his home, applying pressure to the wound on

his face. Quickly, he picked up a wet dishtowel from the sink and started to

clean the wound. Wincing at a stabbing pain, Alexander pulled the dishtowel

from his cheek to see the suds left over from the dish detergent. Exasperated,

he threw the towel back into the sink. Alexander walked over to the hallway

mirror and nearly winced again as he laid eyes on the shallow gash that ran

across his cheek. His tanned complexion was stained by the crimson blood that

had been smeared on his face.

Narrowing his eyes, Alexander strode back to the kitchen sink and

turned on the tap. Wetting his hands under the flow of water, he then cleansed

his face and wiped off with a dry towel hanging off of the grip on the oven. Dry

and relatively clean, Alexander picked up the phone and dialed the number he

had hoped wouldnt need to be used. Putting the phone up to his ear,

Alexander waited for a response.

Department of Social Services, Kessler

speaking.

Paula, Alexander reluctantly greeted,

Its Detective Alexander Griffin, I

need your help with a potential case.

Its been a while since youve needed my help, Griffin. This has gotta be

good, Paula replied, sounding interested,What have you gotten yourself

into this time.Sighing, Alexander started to explain, My son informed

me last night of some beliefs that a girl in the neighborhood is being

abused-

You gotta do better than that, Detective, the social worker criticized

loudly on the other end of the line, We cannot take any action based on

hearsay.

I know Paula, Alexander took a moment to breathe, today had been just

too much, I heard a disturbance at the home in question today while the kids

were at school. I went as a civilian, without shield or firearm. Upon entering

the home, I found debris all over the floor including beer cans, bottles, papers,

and dirty laundry. I found the suspect, Garron Nerezza, in a drunken stupor in

the den. I questioned

him about whether he

needed any help or

not, he refused, then

proceeded to vomit

onto the carpet. I then

asked about the state

of the house. At this

point he started

rambling in Italian, I

didnt catch any of it. I

drew my attention to his hands, which had fresh bruises all over. I accused

him of mistreating his daughter and he flew into a rage.

Oh my god, Kessler responded, worry in her voice, Alex, are you

alright?

Just fine, Alexander smiled at her sentiment, Nothing a little time

cannot heal. So, what can you do for me, Paula?

Officially, nothing, Paula replied in a depressed tone, Not until we have

more than your word on the matter.

Paula, the cop pleaded, this girl may not have enough time to wait.

Okay, Alex, listen, a deep breath was heard on the other end, Im

putting a lot on the line here, but I trust your judgment. I can get a team to

look into it in a week. In the meantime, get some bullshit assault charge filed.

That should keep Nerezza busy. And Griffin...

Yeah, Paula?

Dont do anything stupid, Alex could hear the lingering threat over the

phone lines, followed by the click of the phone hanging up.

Alexander put down the receiver, deep in thought. He then paced over to

his desktop computer and turned it on. As soon as the browser came on,

Alexander looked up the price of train tickets. No, nothing stupid at all, he

thought.

Christian slowly paced down the sidewalk, the bus had dropped him off

several minutes beforehand. Worrying thoughts clouded his mind. He

wondered if he had made the right choice in asking for his fathers help. In the

end, would this help Arianna or hinder her further?

Without warning, a fist lashed out

from Christians right side. The force of the

blow pulping the cartilage in his nose. As

the hand pulled back, blood seeped out of

his nostrils. Christian fell to his knees,

clutching his broken nose. He closed his

eyes as they began to tear up, restricting

him from seeing his attacker. Just as the quick as the blow before, a boot-clad

leg lashed out at his gut, knocking him on his back.

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?! screamed the

feminine voice of Christians assailant. He cracked open his eyes to see Arianna

glaring back at him.

Oh, hey Arianna, Christian greeted sarcastically, Im fine, thanks for

asking. How are you?

I got a call from my father in between classes, Arianna hollared, still

looking at Christian viciously, He was furious, something about your father

interrogating him IN MY OWN HOUSE! What do you know about my home life?

What gives you the right to interfere?

Then Christian replied, I was just worried how your father treats you, how

your father makes you suffer! .

Arrianna bow her head towards him then she shed a tear for what

Christian had said to her. You can see the sadness in her eyes in that time .

Do you know anything dont you? Do you know a thing about our life? Our

life is so miserable so I always understand why my own father was like that on

us!!.

Arrianna run away from where she is standing while Christian try to grab her

hand then he said ,You can call me if you want a companion , Im a good

listener. He smiled and give his number to Arrianna then he let go her arms

freely from his grip.

Later that night Arrianna texted Christian with a message.

Arrianna: Hi! Uhm I think about what youve said to me that night, I think

that I really need someone to talked to. We can meet in the park 9:00 pm, well

my father is already asleep because his drunk again. Anyway I want to say

sorry for what I did lately. See You.

Christian hurried up and changes his clothes immediately. He asks for

his fathers permission and after that he grab his motorcycle. He reasoned to

his father that he will go to his classmate to have some group research.

Christian arrived at the park seeing Arrianna waiting for him in the park

bench. Hi. Christian greeted towards Arrianna. Hello.Arraiana Replied

backed with a smile in her face. Theres a little bit of awkwardness in their

position. Arrianna begun to talk about her life until comes the most important

part of her life where she narrates why his father was so rude to him and

beating her. There lots of question in Christians mind that time. Maybe his

father is a drug addict? Or Maybe his father has a mental illness or she was

just adopted so his father wont show some care or love to her and so on. Lots

of question, then he stop thinking when Arrianna begin to talk. When I was

12, we and my family was so happy

together like we are the most happiest

family on the earth, like I cant ask for

more. But one day my mom collapsed

and my father hurriedly call for an

ambulance then we went to the hospital. My father talked to the doctor said

that mom had a stage 4 breast cancer and I was like been poured by a cold

water, But why my mom? I ask myself. After a month my mom is getting worst

and my father already given up hope but not for me. Im always praying that

she will get well. But Later that night I was still praying because my mom was

already fighting over her life and I prayed to God not for my mother but for us

both that we will accept the faith whatever will happen to my mother. But

unfortunately. . Christian hands over a handkerchief to Arrianna and she

accepts it.

He can fell the sadness in her face. Im sorry to hear that with a voice

of sympathy towards her. Thank you, Lets continue? Sorry I cried a little ,

Im such a cry baby. She said.

After that tragic

event of our lives it was

my father and us on this

world , but I think now its

only me against the

worlds . After my moms

funeral there are a lot of changes in My life. My dad is a drunk bastard. At that

time I am a Sophomore, in High School. My friends? I don't have any. Have you

ever had someone in your school always be lonely and have no friends. I'm that

girl .I only talk to my dad,

teachers, & consoler. The things

people do to me is terrible. They

throw my tests in the garbage,

they throw food at me, they call

me a slut. Everyday , Im giving

up. Not knowing what to do , I

cut. People call me "Emo", which

im not. Im getting sick and tired of this bullshit! I want to kill them all. I think

on how to , but I never do. I guess i'm scared of getting in trouble? But Im

more scared in God so I wouldnt dare to do that I dont know. But, everyday is

a new day. Better things happen, I guess. My dad also abuses me. He hits me

in my face, legs, wrist, & stomach. He touches me inappropriately to. He

touches my ass, & vagina. I think he's gonna rape me, but he's my dad he

wouldn't do that! I dont know. She stop crying and I saw the hatred in her

face, the Arrianna who is weak that I know is strong , Stronger than his father

for not giving up hope in her life.

I think all of this tragedy in your life, it makes you more strong inside.

Dont give up hope to your father, Everything happens for a reason.

I will not give up on him, but if something happens in the way I will not

forgive him. Arrianna said.

Take this promise Arrianna, I will take care of you, no trouble will come in

your way. I will help you. Im your best friend from now on. Then he kissed her

on her forehead.

Thank you, thank you for listening to me, thank you for not judging

me. Arrianna said.

Its getting late , we should be getting home now. Uhm, I can walk you to

home Arrianna. Christian hold her hand and they both gone home.

In that morning Christian and his family was eating their breakfast. This

was the day when the social worker and the police will come over to Arriannas

house and fetch her from his abusive father.

Dad, Can I go with you guys later to help in the rescue for Arriannas

abusive Father?. Christian said excitedly to his father.

No, its to dangerous to go with us son Alexander replied.

Please, I just want to help my best friend and maybe I can be a great

help. Christian said.

I said already that you cannot come. Alexander replied.

Ok. Christian replied with a smooth voice.

I said that its too dangerous to come with us, we dont know what will

happen.. Alexander replied.

Ok. said Christian with an unlively face.

After eating their breakfast, Christian went to his room for it is Saturday.

He was thinking that maybe he can go

before his father and his men to Arrianas

house. And if there will be having a

trouble he can go to the rescue and his

father would be so proud of him. For him

it was a very good idea, so he geared up

all that he might be needing in going to

Arrianas house, like the get up of his

father when they investigate.

That night Christian was already on

his way on Arrianas house. He is a little

bit nervous but he will do it for her friend.

But he will do everything for the girl that

he loves.

While in Arrianas house "Hi dad!!" what she said after coming home from

school, she was late because they have a cheering practice in her school. "Hi

Arrianna." He said with a drunken voice.

"what are gonna do tonight? Are we gonna watch football?" I said

excitedly.

"No, football isn't on tonight. So, we have to make our own fun!" He said

happily. "BOARD GAMES?!" "No. Fucking." "Dad ! Stop!!" He usually

plays around like this all the time. He then says "Im serious take your

shirt off!" I ran into my room shouting and locked the door behind and

pushing my cabinet as fast as I can to block the door. I hear his footsteps

coming in my room.

"ohh God, what do I do Please help me"

She was praying hardly and almost shouting while she cries. Then

in her back beside her window someone broke it and entered her room.

Why!! Whats the matter? Come Ill Help you out in here. They hear the

unlocking of the door.

Go! Go look for my father his now on their way here, and I bet they are

already near here. Go! Im ok, Ill take care of here. Yelled Christian with

a heroic voice. Then Arrianna go out and seek for help.

BOOM! The door slams open "come to papa" what he said. But he

was shocked that Arrianna have left already. Then his father said to him.

Oh look, someone is to the rescue. Oh I think youre the son of the

detective , Alexander right? Come here and I will give you a piece of my

fist , Youre father is a asshole, he comes inside in My Own house like

hes the one whose providing My

daughter needs . Does he have

the right to tell me what will do to

My daughter? I will kill My

daughter if I want to.. He said

angrily and with a drunken voice.

He walks toward Christian in dizzy way that he cannot fight. Christian

takes this as an advantage. But he was stab by a knife not knowing that

Garron was holding one.

They are struggling in each other ,then a group of police men

breaks inside of the house including the father Alexander. He saw

Alexander that he beat down Garron. Arriana was there behind the police

men the police men immediately handcuffed Garron and putting him in

the police car.

Arriana immediately run to where is Christian and he is bleeding to

death. Asking whether his alright or not. Then an ambulance immediately

arrived infront of Arrianas house. Arriana was crying and praying so hard.

A friend of Arrianas and some of their neighbors went to their house and

to comfort her. Arriana , Dont worry Christian will be alright . The paramedic

said that he will survive.

Arriana was crying hardly. She was so worried and terrified with the

incidents. How can my

father do that to me?

Im his daughter. I

cant believe it.

Her friends was

comforting her. And the old lady who lived in front of their house told her. A

good father will not do that unrightfully doings to his daughter. His not your

father anymore, Youre father has already given up hope to live in this world.

Ever since your mom died, your father is not the same anymore. Just dont give

up my child . Many of us care for you.

And Arriana went to home to get some sleep. But in the night sleep is

nowhere to find. She was thinking that she understands his father why he act

like that since her mother passed away. She was still crying. She felt so alone,

but she remember Christian. He was the one who she felt that she is being

cared and loved. And after that she fell asleep.

She went to the hospital that morning and visit Christian. She was so

happy that he is alright. His father was on the jail. Both of them, Arriana and

Christian forgive Garron for what he has done and he was sentenced to jail.

Arriana and Christian became more than best friends. And Christians family

was both happy for them.
