ChildcareProvide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting

This unit of competency has been approved by Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) who have deemed it to satisfy all requirements for first aid, anaphylaxis management and emergency asthma training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). You will also be required to complete Safety Corp Workbook and a First Aid Manual to be completed prior to course.

This unit applies to educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylatic emergencies.

Learning Outcomes:

• Anaphylaxis• Asthma• CPR techniques on adults, children and infants• Compliance with first aid sections of the Education and Care Services National Law and the Education and Care

This course will give you the foundation skills needed for caring for children. Tasks will be aimed at providing quality care of children 0 - 6 years and will cover elements linked to emotional wellbeing, safety, health, nutrition, first aid, communication and meeting children’s basic care needs.

This course is suited to people wishing to work with young children (0 - 6 years).

This training will extend your skills and confidence when caring for young children. It would be an opportunity for anyone wanting to be employed as an aupair/nanny to demonstrate they have a passion for making a positive contribution to children’s lives.

Current Working with Children Check and Industry specific medical are required on entry.

Leads to Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and care and/or a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Direct credits for units within these qualifications will be achieved.

Learn how to do every part of the exam and what it takes to do well. Practice each part of the exam. Look at specific vocabulary and grammar for each part of the test that you will need to pass. The exam is not included.

Suited to English as a second language students who need to pass the IELTS exam if they want to study at university or get their permanent residency.

The training will help you to do your IELTS exam so that you can get into university or get your permanent residency.

If only a backpack or hand held device is used for spot spraying the following two day course is suitable. Obtaining a spraying licence for Lawn & Garden, Landscaping, Bushland and Mine Site Rehabilitation. It is recommended that participants doing this course have significant prior knowledge and skills in the use of spraying chemicals.

You will learn:• Common weeds found in WA, • Common weed controls used in WA (following Integrated Pest Management strategies), • Safe Disposal of chemical residue and containers, • Correct Personal Protective Equipment for selected control measures, • Understanding a chemical label, schedules and use of chemicals, • Understanding Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS), • Group of Chemicals and their formulations. This course is delivered either in a class environment and is subject to enrolment numbers.

For those seeking to obtain the mandatory licence required to meet Health Dept requirements for a Pest Management Technician licence if you are spraying chemicals for commercial gain.

This two day course covers the process of maintaining, preparing and operating hand held chainsaws in a work environment which can be transferred to the homestead.

You will gain skills and knowledge in understanding the correct type of chainsaw for a particular task, how to use the chainsaw, maintain the chainsaw and store suitable personal protective equipment. You will also carry out routine checks and maintenance on chainsaws, apply appropriate chainsaw techniques, cutting methods according to manufacturer’s specifications and documented low risk work procedures; assess and minimise environmental impacts of chainsaw use; maintain records of chainsaw training and certification, risk assessment and use. This one-day course is an essential update for primary producers in all aspects of chemical use and is designed to maintain AusChem WA accreditation. It covers new information in environmental safety, personal and occupational health and safety, legislation, spraying and calibration techniques, residues and resistance to chemicals.

During the course there is the opportunity to review best practice principles and changes in controls on chemical use, take a fresh look at environmental management techniques an identify procedures to minimise risk to chemical users and to comply with regulatory requirements. Renewal of the 5 year Auschem Accreditation.

This theory and practical workshop based course starts with the growing and roasting of the beans and leads you through the process of extracting the perfect espresso and making the complete menu of espresso drinks. This accredited training includes customer service and the correct cleaning and maintenance of the espresso machine. Includes the first day as Workplace Hygiene which is a pre-requisite.

Where members of a work team are expected to undertake multiple roles in regard to the confined space entry, then they must be competent in all those roles. Develop a sculpture using construction techniques: Hebel Stone Sculpture. Hebel stone is manufactured aerated concrete made from sand, lime and cement. As it has finely dispersed bubbles of air through the block it is light and easy to carve, yet not brittle or crumbly. Students will be able to carve using chisels and mallets, cut using saws and form the block by scraping, filing, rasping and sandpapering. On the first morning students will make a “sketch” in clay to use as a guide when carving their sculptures.
