The unlikely combination of German heritage, Texas hospitality, and authentic wine culture comes together seamlessly in Fredericksburg. Situated in the Texas Hill Country, the charming city has been named “Best Small Town in Texas” by Southern Living for two years running. It’s ironic, because this “small town” is the unofficial capital of the largest viticultural region (read: wine-producing area) in Texas.

Fredericksburg offers two very distinct wine experiences. On one hand, visitors can enjoy 11 wineries right in the city, interspersed with fantastic shopping and notable, often German-inspired restaurants. On the other hand, guests can venture out into the countryside to experience beautiful views and more than 50 unique wineries that dot a stretch of U.S. Highway 290, deemed “Wine Road 290.”
