WildAid’s mission is to end the illegal wildlife trade in our lifetimes. While most wildlife conservation groups focus on protecting animals from poaching, WildAid works to reduce global consumption of wildlife products by persuading consumers and strengthening enforcement.
With an unrivaled portfolio of celebrity ambassadors and global network of media partners.
WildAid leverages nearly $200 million in annual pro-‐bono media support. WildAid’s message reaches up to 1 billion people every week.
95% OF THE WORLD'S RHINOS HAVE BEEN LOST IN THE PAST 40 YEARS
¥ In 2015 the world witnessed record levels of rhino poaching in South Africa.
¥ The main markets for horn are identiVied as Vietnam and China. Legal trophy hunting of rhinos in South Africa was inViltrated by Vietnamese organized crime. In addition, increased Chinese economic activity in Africa contributed to an increase in the apprehension of Chinese smuggling rhino horn.
¥ While tens of millions of dollars are spent annually on studying and protecting rhinos in the wild, only a few hundred thousand dollars has been spent on addressing the underlying demand for rhino horn that

What is WildAid doing? In 2013, WildAid launched a three-‐year campaign to reduce rhino horn demand in China. The goal is to use existing methodology, networks, and contacts from WildAid’s ground breaking shark Vin campaign to:
¥ Raise awareness in Vietnam and China of the rhino poaching crisis.¥ Support Vietnamese lawmakers in banning rhino horn sales and increasing enforcement efforts there and in China.
¥ Measurably reduce demand for rhino horn in Vietnam and China.WildAid are building their campaign by creating messages and extensive street-‐level and social media campaigns with leading International Vigures from entertainment, sport and the British Royal Family.
WildAid Ambassadors feature in Public services Announcements that reach the largest possible audience to affect change. The power of celebrity changes minds.
A WildAid survey in August 2013 revealed that 85% of 1,568
respondents in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu said they stopped eating shark fin soup in the
last 3 years. 65% of those said awareness campaigns was a reason
why they stopped.
The Mkomazi National Park is a magnificent, 3,500 square kilometre game reserve in northern Tanzania. Remote and inaccessible, it was established in 1951, but never attracted the financial support provided for the better known wildlife strongholds such as the Ngorongoro and the Serengeti National Parks. Only since 1989, when the Tanzanian Government reexamined the reserve’s status and designated it a National Priority Project, has its true significance and importance been recognized.
The Mkomazi National Park is a spectacular wilderness. Within sight to the northwest is Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest summit. To the south, the Pare and Usumbara Mountains form a dramatic backdrop and, to the north, Kenya’s vast Tsavo National Park shares a border with Mkomazi, making common ground for migratory herds of elephant, oryx and zebra during the wet season. Together with Tsavo, it forms one of the largest and most important protected ecosystems on earth.
Mkomazi is the southern tip of the Sahel zone. It is a classic dry-country reserve of grey-green nyika bush, ancient baobab trees and isolated rocky hills. Elsewhere, the seas of bush give way to open savannah woodlands of umbrella acacias and mbugas - shallow valleys of grassland.
The animals, too, are typical of the arid nyika. Giraffe, oryx, gerenuk, hartebeest, lesser kudu, eland, impala and Grant’s gazelle share the reserve with elephant, buffalo, and numerous predators, including lion, leopard and cheetah. In all, 78 species of mammals have been recorded.
The birds of Mkomazi are even more numerous, with over 400 recorded species. Doves, hornbills, weavers and guinea-fowl are all present in large numbers - as well as such striking species as the martial eagle and violet wood-hoopoe.
Mkomazi National Park
By 1988, Mkomazi was in steep decline. It represented a classic example of degradation. Heavy poaching had wiped out its black rhino and elephant populations. Overgrazing, deliberate burning and illegal hunting had also taken their toll. At one time, it was even feared that the reserve might be de-gazetted and released for subsistence agriculture. The Tanzanian Government then re-examined the status of Mkomazi Game Reserve, with a view to ensuring the complete rehabilitation of this vast area and the reintroduction of its endangered species, and the reserve was awarded National Priority Project status. The Government invited Tony Fitzjohn to to work with them on a program of habitat restoration and the reintroduction of endangered species. In 1989, the Mkomazi Project was born.
The George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trusts have been the Tanzanian Government’s main partner in this unique and important endeavour. Since 1988, the majority of the resources of the Trusts have been devoted to the project. Roads, boundaries and airstrips have been cleared, an entire radio network installed, water sources sited and pumped, dams constructed and de-silted, rangers recruited and equipped, and well over fifteen hundred air-hours flown on anti-poaching patrols. The captive-breeding program for the African Wild Dog has been established, and a rhino sanctuary has been constructed and stocked. Both form part of the Tanzanian Government’s policy on endangered species. The result has been one of spectacular success. One of the most fragile, threatened and beautiful parts of Africa has been reborn.
Already, the years of hard work have had a profound effect on the animals living in the reserve. At the end of the 1980s, after two decades of slaughter at the hands of ivory poachers, only eleven elephants were left in Mkomazi. Today, during the rainy season, close on 1,000 elephants range freely across the reserve, including many herds of breeding females with their young.
Dear Guests ,
If you have just spent five minutes reading the stories of Wildaid and Mkomazi , you will realize that the plight of the African Elephant and the Rhino is a very serious matter . When I saw that someone had darted a Female Rhino with a calf , waited until the animal was paralyzed helpless then took a chainsaw to its face to take the horn then left it to wake up . This made me so angry that I wanted to help with do-ing one of my ‘Shoots for Charity’ to raise money for more rangers , spotter planes and any other way to stop this cruelty . This conduct can only be fueled by ignorance by the Asian market and greed in this despicable trade ...In the past , I have helped Music Therapy , Multiple Sclerosis , Kidney Dialysis Machines , Children living on the Paris streets , Blind Children , and Children’s sports grounds . To me , this is a situation that is in need of action now ! I have therefore organized a glamorous and unforgettable shooting experience for those of us who love shooting ... We only shoot clay targets that are Eco-friendly and therefore there is no blood !!I have chosen one of the most beautiful and spectacular sites in England between Blenheim Palace and the Capability Brown Bridge in the Park . There will be a fun shoot in the afternoon around this beautiful lake , then at Twilight we will do something never attempted before . We will compete with a fun scoring element for 100 clays lit by fluorescent lighting , tracer shells and indeed white clays with different coloured powder . A shoot with a difference , followed by a glamorous and fun dinner and an auction to raise funds to help these two particular Charities .As the organiser , I can promise you a fun time , an unforgettable experience for this very worthwhile cause ...
THANK YOU ...
