Evaluating your undergraduate setting… Considering starting or expanding a TYA-dedicated group in your undergraduatesetting? Purple Crayon Players of Northwestern University began with a tour in 2005and has expanded to include diverse forms of outreach and experimentation.

Come to our shows

Whether it's an original adaptation or a TYA classic, Purple Crayon Players produces

high quality work throughout the academic year. Our 2010 - 2011 season includes twomainstage productions, two special projects, and an annual festival of new plays. Thelineup features everything from plays by Laurie Brooks and Suzan Zeder to our ownadaptation of the French film Le Ballon Rouge (The Red Balloon) and a new play forvery young audiences by Ramon Esquivel. Are you a schoolteacher in the Chicagoland area? If so, check out our wintermainstage and spring touring production, Doors by Suzan Zeder. Our touring shows arefully mounted productions, which include comprehensive and detailed study guides, a

post-show discussion, and the option of a pre-show workshop with the cast and crew.Tours are an inexpensive way to integrate the arts into your school's curriculum. Findout more, including available tour dates in April and May, on our website.

Check out our internship program

Do you know any high school students in the Chicagoland area who are eager to learnmore about theatre? If so, consider recommending Purple Crayon Players' first everinternship program, which will be held in the fall of 2010 in conjunction with ourmainstage production of The Wrestling Season by Laurie Brooks. Internships will beavailable in both acting and production, and interns will have the opportunity to work

directly with talented Northwestern University artists to explore theatre and the themesfound in The Wrestling Season . Applications are due October 1, 2010.

Submit to PLAYground

Attention playwrights! Our annual spring PLAYground festival is now acceptingsubmissions. Fresh, unpublished play submissions must be sent [email protected] by December 10, 2010. If chosen, you will receive astaged reading of your script at Northwestern University, workshop time with students,and dynamic feedback from post show discussions, audience surveys, studentdirectors, and cast members.
