Bob Goff is secretly incredible. He says that every follower of Jesus should try to be so. Put it on a T-shirt, wear it under your other clothes, and be it. Be secretly incredible because you are loved by God in Christ and because you are in love. You see, says Bob, when you are in love you do stuff. Thoughtful and planned out stuff, yes, but also whimsical stuff. Off the wall, just because of being in love, stuff. Bob says, and I think he is onto something truthful, that you almost can’t help yourself. When you are in love you do stuff - cut flowers, make cards, show up in surprise places in surprise ways, Listen for ways to show the one you love your capacity to love. Sometimes you think it through and other times you don’t worry too much about logic. It might make “sense” or it might not. It might be pre-dictable and planned and it might be totally spontaneous. It is pure, unadulterated love. Sometimes spirituality gets reduced down to the highly introspective path of the theologian or author. Spiritual growth is relegated to spiritual knowledge or insight and we run the risk of becoming those who think they are in love with God. But, as many have said before, we generally don’t think our way into
a new kind of acting, we act our way into a new kind of thinking. In 2 Corinthians 5:13-15 God says through Paul, “If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. “Bob Goff is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Restore International, a non-profit organization which was estab-lished to address the atrocities and injustices committed against children. With a passion and vision for finding audacious ways to restore justice to children and the poorest of the poor, Restore’s mission is to make a difference on behalf of those who do not otherwise have a voice.” (from Bob’s website) Bob is a follower of Christ who pays for groceries (as he puts it) by practicing law. His reputation is excellent. Bob’s message is simply “Do Stuff” and he would encourage us to do it secretly incredibly. www.bob-goff.com twitter @bobgoff

Youth NewsTime ChangeThe youth ministry team has made a decision to change the time for Sunday evening youth meetings.
On November 6th when we all change our clocks for daylight savings time we will also begin our new youth meeting time.
Both the middle school and the high school will regularly meet from 6:30-8pm. The groups will be meeting at the same time but not together on a regular basis. We welcome feedback and will be evaluating the change and its effectiveness in helping us min-ister to the youth as we move forward.
Rake and RunThe youth sponsored the service event on October 16th and had a great day. We had 22 youth along with 10 adults who raked more bags of leaves than we could count and served 5 families in our community. Enjoy the pictures from our great day!

Sister’s FellowshipOn October 15th, the Sister’s Fellowship group went to the Sanctuary in Zionsville. The Sanctuary was originally a United Methodist Church and the first church in Zionsville (1854). It is now the home of Nancy Noel’s studio and the Ghyslain restaurant. After tour-ing the art studio, we had lunch with great food and fellowship. And since the Ghyslain is known for its chocolate and pastries, we each purchased an individual dessert to go.
November 5th The Saturday Sisters Trip The Saturday Sisters Trip will be November 5th- be will be going to the Holiday Mart at the fairgrounds. We will meet at the church at 9:30, after shopping we will stop and have lunch. If you are interested in going please con-tact Linda Shore at 839-0292 or [email protected] by November 2nd.
Hanging of the GreenPlease plan to join in the cele-bration of preparing our church home for Advent on Sunday, November 20th following 2nd service. A light meal will be served prior to decking the halls. The Children's Discipleship Team will be decorating cookies and making cards for our home-bound and nursing home resi-dents with children in Preschool through 5th grade. Last year's ornaments will be used to deco-rate the Christmas Tree in the Fellowship Hall. Nursery care will be provided as well.
Ladies Wed. AM Bible Study (9-10:30 a.m.)This group will resume on 11/9 with a 5 week Advent study The Journey: Walking the Road to Bethlehem by Adam Hamilton. Pastor Dave will also be utiliz-ing this resource as the basis for his sermons throughout Advent. This group will also meet on 11/2 for Food & Fellowship. Anyone who would like to join in the fun, bring your favorite breakfast dish. Confirmation SundayPlease plan to join us in worship on Sunday, November 6th as we celebrate the Confirmation of seven wonderful young people, Madalyn Cloud, Riley Daugherty, Joshua Hatton, Molly Henley, Derek Renback, Lucas Rutherford, and Emily Wagner. The Confirmands have chosen the elements for the worship service and will be serv-ing as worship leaders throughout both services. A cake and punch reception will be held between services. We have truly enjoyed the Confirmation journey with these youth and hope that you will join us in celebrating their decision to publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ.
