Teaching and LearningTeachingTaughtbywell-qualifiedacademicstaff fromtheSCOPE,City University of Hong Kong with quality guidance onteaching, learningandassessment from teachingstaffofSheffieldHallamUniversity,studentswillbefullyconfidentinreceivingthehighestqualityacademicprogramme.VenueClasseswillnormallybeheldatCityUSCOPELearningCentres inKowloonTong,TsimShaTsuiEastand/orotherdesignated venues.Student SupportStudents will have access to the CityU Library, CityUComputing Services Centre and the learning resources of Sheffield Hallam University, such as ProQuestCentral Database and virtual learning environment of the Blackboard.AwardStudents will be recommended for the award of Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Applied Social Science conferred bythe Sheffield Hallam University upon completion of theprogramme.

Programme DeliveryThe approach of this programme is blended learning.Learningandteachingwillbefacilitatedthroughlectures/ tutorials / workshops conducted by the CityU staff. Inaddition, e-learning and discussion through the Blackboard VirtualLearningEnvironmentwillbeemployed.However,emphasis is placed upon students taking responsibility for theirownlearning.Studentswillbeexpectedtoundertakeindependent work such as information collation and organisation, reading and note-taking from books, articles and other written sources outside the classroom albeit with the support and guidance from teaching staff and via Blackboard.

Programme AdministrationThe programme will be administered by the School ofContinuing and Professional Education, City Universityof Hong Kong (CityU SCOPE) in Hong Kong whileSheffieldHallamUniversity(SHU)willmonitortheteachingand progress of the programme.

Programme StructureThecreditrequirementis180tobecompletedinthreephases in one calendar year. Students will need to take both core modules and electives from the list below during their course of study:

* Students can EITHER take Applied Dissertation (40 credits) plus 2 out of 4 other electives OR all 4 electives except Applied Dissertation. The availability of electives is subject to the enrolment number.

Eligible students enrolled in the full-time programme can apply for government grants and loans under the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP)andNon-means-testedLoanSchemefor Post-secondary Students (NLSPS) schemes.
